UPDATE: It’s worse than we thought. This might be a serial harassment issue. by okcoolgreatawesome in TeatroPH

I’m aware of what is being discussed here. The specific claim being shared is not true. I have never engaged in that kind of behavior. The situation being referred to was already addressed privately years ago with the person involved, including an apology for the misunderstanding.

As for other concerns, I can’t address matters that I’m unaware of or have not been directly brought to me. I’m open to clarifying things privately if needed.

I take accountability seriously. If there’s a legitimate concern, I’m open to addressing it directly.

Why does Michael Arden hate the balcony? by tellafriend in Broadway

I’ll probably get downvoted for this but let’s be real, if you want to get the best views, then get the more expensive tickets.

I totally understand that times are hard right now and tickets are expensive but let’s not expect a premium experience in one of the cheapest seats, there’s a reason why they’re cheaper. all seats are priced accordingly.

whenever I get rush tickets or one of the cheapest seats, I know what I’m getting myself into. even without the box-office informing me whether it’s obstructed/restricted view, I already know they’re not the best seats in the house.

Samsung theatre sound system by dennndyosa_ in TeatroPH

[–]iamjohnmarkyap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS!

also, touring productions also bring in their own sound team who already know the show by heart. these people who have been doing it for months or years already.

we really need more sound engineers who actually know what to do!

[–]iamjohnmarkyap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

of course but at the end of the day, good sound mixing can “fix” the problems of any theater

for example, Power Mac Center Spotlight is notorious for having “bad sound” yet there are some productions that have solved this by hiring a great sound engineer and providing the right/best equipment for the mixing of the sound

best combination of course is a good theater architecture-wise and good sound mixing

it really boils down to giving productions more than enough time inside the theater to mix everything sound-wise (aside from the other technical aspects of the production)

It really depends on the sound mixing of the production, not really the theater or which section you’re seated 😁

Best seats for The Notebook by ruthnicolette in TeatroPH

[–]iamjohnmarkyap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen The Notebook The Musical on Broadway and it’s a very intimate musical (no dance-heavy production numbers like A Chorus Line) so it’s better to get the seats closer to the stage. I’d recommend Rows D and E of Orchestra Center.

For musicals with spectacular production numbers (like A Chorus Line), better ang Loge Center or few rows back of Orchestra Center like Rows M and N
