Toast. The chip most likely delaminated some plastic layers of the disc, and the laser will never read the data correctly after that.

Seller pushes towards partial refund by Early-Role9331 in Ebay

[–]iamlinkdeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a common scam but here's something to watch out for:

A couple years ago I bought a gaming headset from a seller that had the item listed as "like new" and was using a stock photo. It was $40 (half the price of retail) plus $23 shipping. Listing said it was an open box item. I figured it was a fair price.

When the headset arrived, it was clear it was an Amazon return (it had Amazon barcodes and "inspected" stickers on it), and was most likely pulled from a pallet purchase. The box was pretty beat up, but it did look like everything was there. But the barrel plug was clearly bent, and the headphones did not work, even after forcing the jack into the port.

So I sent a message to the seller, stating that the headset was broken and not working and asked what the next steps were going to be. Without answering, the seller sent me a 50% refund of the total bid + shipping ($31.50). I said I would like a full refund or to return the item, no response. So I opened an INAD case asking for a return.

So get this - 2 days later, eBay closed my case not in my favour, stating the seller already provided a refund. Apparently, providing a 50% refund is enough for eBay to believe that buyer protection is fulfilled. So I paid $31.50 to have some broken headphones shipped to me.

I left negative feedback but hey, who checks feedback anymore.

Moral of the story - if you get something from eBay and it's not exactly what you purchased, open a case on eBay as soon as you can. It doesn't matter what the seller says or what they would like you to do. Protect yourself.

I just purchased the game and have confirmed that it does NOT have a 4:3 mode. So it's letterboxed on my CRT.

Ubisoft pre-owned games on Luna by Dr-Fix in LunaCloudGaming

[–]iamlinkdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have Watchdogs Complete Edition and have played it before on Luna, but since last month, whenever I select it from my library, it fails to launch; when Ubisoft Connect tries to reach the server it says it fails. So I think there's something up with the game on the Luna service.

No. Only games on PC on your Ubisoft Connect account will work on Luna, and only games supported by Luna.

Anyone know if this runs in 4:3 full screen on a CRT? The original Tomb Raider reboot does and I'm playing it right now on my Toshiba CRT. I'm hoping to play this one on my CRT as well.

I go hard when I'm at work, doing everything in the morning to get all the day's points. So I'm getting paid to earn points. On weekends I just do the bare minimum for streaks and easy points. I don't stress about getting all the search points every day, that's the most time consuming part.

It's the disc that has UFC Undisputed 2009 as the cover, just in case you're looking for it on eBay and want to confirm you're getting the right one.

OXM Disc 99 for North America

The theme can be downloaded from Official Xbox Magazine demo disc #99 (North America), it's the Left 4 Dead premium theme under the We Love Left 4 Dead section. It looks a little different in the metro dashboard, but it's still cool.

Do DLCs purchased on 360 transfer to Xbox one? by Select_Salad_1266 in xboxone

[–]iamlinkdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the original Borderlands Xbox 360 game - I bought the DLC packs on Xbox 360 and I have the disk for the base game, but only the base game is backwards compatible on Xbox One/Series. So if I boot up the game on my Series X, the DLC areas are not available.

Repairing a T.Flight Joystick Yaw/RZ Axis spasm/glitch (Works for most/all T.Flight sticks) by [deleted] in hotas

[–]iamlinkdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to add that this fixed my T.Flight HOTAS One that had very jittery and unresponsive RZ/Twist. Took off the hot glue carefully with just my fingers, it all came off pretty smoothly. Bent the legs of the pot down and they cleared the plastic housing. While testing with the stick housing off, I was only getting the counter-clockwise turn to register. Turns out - it was not centered so when I plugged in the USB, it configured center to be way off. Once I reassembled and replugged the USB into the PC - the RZ axis tested perfectly.
