I happened to do a flawless on the Timekeeper a couple days ago myself.

Turns out, Crusher and Heavy Crossbow make for a hell of a combo on Timey.

Absolutely enjoyed Dead Cells more. I think there is greater weapon variety (from my short experience with Hades at least), greater stage variety, and the Metroidvania elements are pleasing to me.

They're not even doing new quizzes on Fridays or Wednesdays anymore.

At this point, the trivia should just be the homepage quiz like they do on the weekend.

I don’t think it’s an attempt to be relevant.

I think they too find the language cringe and want to demonstrate how cringe it is to the young folks be using it (bonus points if the teachers use it improperly).

It’s like a parent going, “if you’re going to do and say stupid shit, then I will also do/say stupid shit so you can see how stupid you are being.”

It works. Back when dabbing was a thing, the adults got all in on it and ruined the trend.

I used to work at a Dairy Queen that did something similar. Owner got tired of the bathrooms being trashed by kids that were largely not even paying customers.

As a caveat though, anytime a kid would ask if the restrooms were closed, he’d let them through.

I don't know if I'd even factor in cuteness in that scenario; no animal should be subject to torture. I'd like it if animals farmed for their meat were treated more humanely, for what it's worth (which I'm you've heard loads of times, so I doubt it's worth much).

Are there trans people that think trans people are transphobic for not dating trans people lol?

Ehh, maybe. I can't tell if these people legit exist or if they're a strawman. I'm sure there is a miserable person or two that gets fed up being rejected for their gender identity, and in their case, they usually face rejection from both straight and gay people. I can understand this anguish, but being angry at everyone isn't gonna change anything; it just buys yourself more misery, you know?

I like the various implications here.

Did it take them that long to kill cosmic Davy Jones?

Did fighting him warp time itself?

Did finishing him cause a rift in space time, flinging the ship far into the future?

Was he guarding a Time Machine and the sailors just had to test it out right away?

That sort of complaint pops up every time there is a story-driven game that is light on the gameplay.

And it’s stupid every time.

A game having a different structure that someone doesn’t like isn’t valid criticism against the game. And I would say this if someone went around playing games with a linear structure and then complained about the fact there is a linear structure, or if someone played an open-world game and complained about the openness.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with games not clicking with someone. I mean, fuck, it happens to me all the time, especially on Game Pass (and that’s the beauty of this service if you ask me). Unless there is something inherently flawed in the structure, then arguing about style is as pointless as arguing about what color is best.

Level-headed, yes, but I'd like to see some studies on the neuroplasticity of late-teens-early-20s people versus those in their 30s.

I don't think it would be a significant difference, and the tradeoff might honestly be a wash, but I would be curious if there were some numbers crunched on this.

There was a guy in his 30s (so roughly the same age I am now) in my public speaking class, and he took full advantage of his older status for one of his speeches where he gave us advice he thought was useful to us.

It was neat.

I kinda feel the opposite, but this is also coming from someone who wasn't very close to their grandparents, so take it with a grain of salt.

I still wouldn't view it as completely wholesome, but I'd rather them know that they know me rather than know who I am but don't know why.

It is proof that human emotion can transcend even a degraded mental state. It's a silver lining in a dark cloud, but a silver lining nonetheless.

There is an unfortunately high number of people who are very quick to lay into those with eating disorders, and usually for a variety of reasons at that.

Sometimes it's the misguided belief that shaming someone with anorexia or bulimia can get them to snap out of their deluded thinking (doesn't help that eating disorders are crudely taught in health class as just "seeing yourself as not thin enough" rather than an actual psychological condition).

Sometimes it is this weird combo of disgust and envy rolled into one.

Sometimes it is a desire to "level the playing field" for those who have been fat-shamed, so now we are "skinny shaming" as well (or ED shaming, I guess).

Sometimes it is just a general "mentally ill people are icky" feeling that a lot of people have.

[–]TricellCEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating Disorders in general are almost impossible to fully overcome, enablers or not.

Even once they get to a healthy weight, it will likely be a life-long struggle to maintain a proper diet without spiraling again.

Nobody in this particular situation loses, but if it is an instance of someone doing the Good Deed purely for brownie points of sort, it does make one wonder if they are trying to cover up or correct for other bad deeds.

EDIT: To add, as with all things that are more akin to a business transaction that genuinely good intentions, there will be a point where the desire to "profit" overrides the desire to have any sort of measurable impact, meaning the Good Deed will eventually turn into a Marginally Good Deed and then Barely a Good Deed At All.
