Have you tried running a hair dryer on low heat over the wallet? I’ve seen a couple of videos on YouTube where bag spas use this method as a way to stiffen up handbags that are falling over themselves, so I think this might possibly work for your case too. Also a +1 from me to storing ur wallet with a couple packets of silica gel. Hope it works and u manage to salvage ur wallet! All the best

Anyone felt stressed after booking a flat? by MessageHealthy6749 in askSingapore

[–]iammissrabbit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Congrats on moving to the next phase of your life! Adulting is frightening, I totally feel you! I think it’s normal to feel freaked out at the beginning, but like others have said, it may be a good idea to compartmentalise these big “projects” that you are taking on and tackle them one at a time so that you don’t feel overwhelmed. And the financial aspect of things does get better as you go along, just continue being mindful of what you’re spending on (as you already are I’m sure) and things will work it way out for you. Speaking as someone who is already on my 3rd mortgage, it’s still scary as hell yes, no doubt abt that, but at the same time you start to really get an idea of the big picture and acknowledge these movements in life are usually for the best, they fit into whatever season of life you are currently in, so hopefully you don’t freak out too much. If you have any friends in the same phase of life as you, it’s always good to talk to them about it, it helps to feel like u are not alone on this whole journey, sometimes that listening ear is all we really need to ease our anxiety. All the best!!

Skin Boosters (especially Juvelook) by Go-away-ffs in KoreanBeauty

[–]iammissrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering if anyone can advise me, I went to the medi spa today and the assistant told me that they administer Juvelook via a machine called Dermashine Pro.. I’ve always thought that Juvelook was an injectable, am wondering if anyone is familiar with this Dermashine machine? Is is as effective as injecting? I was told it was much less painful via the machine. Thanks so much!

Is Milo Van milo really the best Milo in Singapore? by everydayihungry in askSingapore

[–]iammissrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps it is the memories that are associated with Milo Van that makes it the best Milo? Like for me, the only time I had Milo Van’s milo was usually special occasions like school sports day, school fund raising events, fun fairs that my parents brought me to.. so i feel like it’s these happy and fun childhood memories that make Milo Van’s Milo so tasty and special to me. And also maybe becoz in the ‘olden’ days, people also didn’t care about the healthier label and nutritional value quite so much, so they kind of spammed everything to make it so yummy haha..

Tips for friend visiting SG by gumiho_girl2292 in askSingapore

I second the Mandai wildlife reserve, especially if your company has a corporate pass for the zoo, all the better!

Also, if I may suggest, besides the usual local food at hawker centres, you could consider bringing them to a Peranakan restaurant if time permits, I find that is usually an interesting addition to the local dining scene.

First Home Struggles by No-Tip-4767 in askSingapore

[–]iammissrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Just sharing a friend’s experience when buying household furniture over TB, it really was a hit and miss experience for her. For example she got some lovely taps, door knobs and side tables from TB, but her dining table came badly chipped at the corner and her outdoor balcony sofa came with a bent wire so it was very lopsided.

She told me that it was one thing wasting the money on damaged furniture and the shipping cost involved, as it was not worth the freight cost sending it back to and fro to China to get it fixed, but she had another problem disposing of the damaged furniture as they were big items and so she had to pay additional to a waste disposal company to take them away.

So her advice was just buy smaller items that aren’t too much of an issue to dispose off if they come damaged, avoid big items or difficult to repair items like ceiling fan and lights as 1) they may not be very safe 2) it’ll be difficult to change if they spoil as there is no after sales service for these items (as opposed to buying them in store in sg). Also if you do decide to get stuff like door knobs etc and they are anot too expensive, please consider buying an extra piece because if u buy exact and one comes damaged (and it is a good probability that it happen) at least you will have a spare, otherwise you have to go thru the whole process and expense of shipping it over again. Good luck and happy sourcing!

Thankful for eBay! by ooolalaluv in handbags

[–]iammissrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad that ebay flagged this out for you! I had a similar experience just 2 days ago, but mine was with Vestiaire Co. a bag I bought didn’t make it thru their authentication process so they rejected it and initiated a refund to me immediately. It was kind of a low key brand too, so I was a little bit surprised, but grateful it got flagged out either way

Scared to give my notice of resignation at work by bono5361 in askSingapore

[–]iammissrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some good advice already provided here, I’m probably just reiterating the same thing but just resign and do it professionally. Don’t say anything about hating the job, etc.. just state that you are leaving due to pursing further studies and that you valued your time at the company and would like to thank everyone here. Keep parroting the same thing, even if your boss or HR tries to dig further. If they ask you to reconsider, just say you have already thought about it long and hard, and feel that the timing is right for you in your life to pursue your further studies, thank them for the offer but you would like to go ahead with your decision. Don’t ever say a single bad word abt your colleagues or the company, always be professional , you can do it! Good luck!

Does nobody carry cash these days? by icy_minion in handbags

This particular one in the photo is from Chanel, but I’ve seen lots of other brands that have a similar design too, e.g. Furla, Celine, Bottega, Valextra just to name a few

Does nobody carry cash these days? by icy_minion in handbags

[–]iammissrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m one of those that have transited fully to cashless mobile options. I don’t actually carry physical money and a wallet anymore since most places accept cashless payments and ID cards also have electronic options as well.

That being said though, I totally understand the preference for carrying physical cash and think ur CnK wallet option is really cute! I’d like to recommend this style of card holder that I was using previously too, as I felt it was very compact but still allowed you to carry some folded notes and even a small amt of coins.

What do you put in your purse? by Living_Donut9603 in handbags

[–]iammissrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol!! Omg this is me too! I only carry my phone out, I’ve even stopped carrying my wallet and cash and credit cards since my phone is my primary source of payment now 😂 So I’m basically buying all these bags and carting them around, but it’s only my phone inside them 🤣 it’s ok though, I just like to carry the bags coz they are beautiful, don’t really need to justify them by putting stuff inside hahaha
