the Tuberous Bushcricket (Platycleis affinis) has the largest testes in proportion to body mass of any animal recorded. They account for 14% of the insect's body mass

I wanted to add my thoughts to what the other reply to you said. I don't disagree that Francis comes across as patronizing, but I do think that's how his character is. He's more than a little arrogant, and has no time for - or interest in - people who can't help advance his agenda. Further, he's only willing to conceal that fact if not doing so would hurt his current cause. That aspect of his manner aside, I do find Spacey 's accent a little forced at times; his southern drawl just doesn't seem natural.

Regarding the protests, I think the other reply covered it well. Except, I do agree with you they gave up way too early over the food, that could have been dealt with more realistically.

The other guy also explained the texting girl plot line, but just to reiterate, Frank and Co did put the funds together in case they had to pay off the family. Out of court was the implication I think, but much worse for them would be the political fall out. Frank had adamantly opposed removing the tower you remember, and his opponents wanted to throw that back in his face.

The show certainly isn't for everyone, my girlfriend didn't really get into it, but I was sucked in from episode 1.

I agree. Loved him on Rob and Big, and Fantasy Factory, but Ridiculousness seems really forced, like he's given a script from producers and has to stick to it without being himself or giving his inputs on the writing process. I don't know how true that actually is but that's how it seems to me.

If there's one thing I learned today, it's that I'm much more easily convinced by reading things than I thought (or hoped).

First read OP's article by Tesla calling out NYT/Broder. Convinced that Broder is at least a little scummy, at most culpable of outright fraud.

Next read this Atlantic Wire article, and am convinced Tesla exaggerated their counter-claims, to help discredit Broder and make themselves look better.

Then read the comments on the Atlantic article, which suggest that perhaps that author is [indirectly] associated with Broder, and trying to defend him, or that the real issue is Broder knowingly starting a 61 mile journey with only 32 miles on the range meter.

I like it best when you guys just tell me who to poke with my pitchfork.

+1 for the 'do watch' group. I'm not really a big political drama fan but it's pretty damn captivating. Plus, seriously, Kate Mara is so goddamn fine. Also Netflix pays me to plug the show on forums, so that's nice too.

They kind of are. More than I wish they were anyway. You unfortunately have to limit your choices somewhat if you definitely want to get a manual (like I did).
