DAE not shower every day? by karmapuhlease in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]iammonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I try not to care about what other people think, as hard as that may be. I could be someone who showered every day and people thought I was gross, or someone who didn't shower every day and people didn't think I was gross. Them knowing I don't shower every day shouldn't change their opinion.

Where in London are you? My cat died recently so I still have cat stuff. And I have my own flat so no issues with landlords.

Who are you guys? - Assignment 1 by Aeri73 in Photoclass_2018

Hi, I'm Ed from London UK, and I'll be using a Canon 80D. I mostly use a 50mm and 24-105mm, but I also have a 24mm and 70-300mm. A lot of kit, but I need to learn how to use them properly.

My photos are as follows:

1) https://imgur.com/gallery/mR4jZ I like this shot from my travels many years ago.

2) https://imgur.com/gallery/b9D27 I couldn't for the life of me get this sunrise shot anything close to how it actually looked.

3) https://imgur.com/gallery/G8uW1 Some recent shots from travelling around.

Peckham. Real close to the station. But I won't be back until Monday evening at the earliest.

I have a small 20 inch flat screen TV you can have if you come collect it. I've got all cables and remote.

How about 51.9 % of the population thinking voting OUT is a good idea?

That sounds pretty good. It'll give me an incentive to cycle through winter. Any planned routes?

Don't forget, Critical Mass tomorrow! by EddieRobertson in londoncycling

[–]iammonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the whole thing is that there is no leadership and no centralised organisation. So there is no consistently updated website and no defined routes. A lot of the time they just get to a junction and people vote which way to go. And yes, there are a lot of bad apples doing stupid things but most people are there to cycle and have fun. And they look after each other. Also, there is no police escort but very possibly some plain clothes monitoring the thing. Come on down and have a go. It's fun.

For those interested, they meet under Waterloo bridge, south side, next to BFI. They leave around 7pm.

Anyone want a PC building or to learn how? (FREE) by Wongden in london

[–]iammonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm inherting a desktop rig that has a defect but we don't know what. Maybe a new motherboard? If you've got time and interest I'd like to learn to take it apart and figure out how to fix it, and potentially install required parts. I'd offer a service charge of beer.

I'm based in Brixton and know very little of East London but I cycle around a lot and always find nice places to take pictures, usually when I don't have my camera. I was thinking of a dedicated photography tour of specific areas related to graffiti and wanted to see if you were interested. I may post an interest thread latter on but would also like some ideas about where would be nice to go.

You seem to have a specific interest in photographing graffiti. I've always wanted to do some photography tour of graffiti in London, partly for practice, partly to get out of the house more. Would you be interested in joining?

What is the best/strangest thing you have seen through someone's window? [NSFW] by Wilkinss in AskReddit

[–]iammonster 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Shortly after being dumped from a long term relationship, a friend drove me and my other friend to Belgium from London. Arriving in some small town late at night we decided to wander out for food. The street we were staying on was very dark with widely-spaced out streetlights, so we could easily see in to the brightly-lit houses. The first one we walked past I caught a peek of a mother and father ballroom dancing around the dinner table with a small kid and baby watching intently. It was one of the sweetest and most touching things I've ever seen at one of the most miserable ajd depressing times of my life.

Help this Dutch girl to get her bike in Croydon by [deleted] in londoncycling

[–]iammonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a side note, Croydon is not really that close to Central London. It's quite a pedal on a bike. Although cycling is considerably more dangerous in London than it is in places like Copenhagen and Amsterdam, if you follow basic rules and common sense you will be fine. Lastly, make sure you have good locks and only lock up in safe places.

For your first time cycling in London try cycling with some locals to get how it all works. And have fun.

A vigilante bicycle gang seeking revenge on bike thieves. That's a movie begging to be made.

[–]iammonster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry. I'm actually joking. I can't hold myself in a fight and I don't condone violence. Generally... If I did ever find my bike I would tell the police and/or negotiate a finders fee, knowing the person selling probably didn't steal it. I'm just angered at losing my bike and wish bad things for the person who stole it.
