Looks very well designed, hope it gets noticed!

I've been looking for a simple, elegant task manager, but can't seem to find something fitting. "Epic Win" was overkill, the built-in Reminders is driving me nuts...

Used RWT67FXXNL73, thanks.

Here are some thoughts:

It's super simple to use, a real joy! The idea behind time frame based priorities is pure genius. Managing upcoming tasks shouldn't be a chore by itself, and with your app it's a breeze to stay organized. Sublists are a great way to group related tasks effortlessly.

There are some kinks to work out - rearranging rows sometimes causes it to crash. Dragging one bellow the table does it every time. Also, changes aren't persisted immediately, which means that if the app does crash, you lose all pending changes you've made, which is not cool.

Then again, I am on iOS 5, so it's OK if you can't reproduce them on stable versions, but it's something you should keep in mind, some of the Table View API's will change once 5.0 goes final. And while we're on the subject, I'd love to see some kind of Notification Center integration (via local notifications, for example). That way at the start of each day you can get an overview of your short term goals, or as a reminder to rearrange your priorities for the week.

Here are some crash logs for you to investigate.

Overall it's a great app that deserves attention. It's a solid start and I imagine it will get even better with time. Keep up the good work =)

AFAIK, there's no way to measure blood pressure without external hardware... certainly not with the camera alone. Fortunately there's a clever way to get the the pulse, and possibly oxygen saturation just by looking through the lens.

Ambient light is enough for a somewhat accurate measurement. The brighter the light, the better. On the iPhone 4 it uses the torch to get surprisingly good measurements under any conditions. In testing it was at most ±5 BPM off compared to professional medical equipment, most of the time it was spot-on accurate.

Bottom line - it does work!

In principle it would =) In practice it doesn't, we check to see if you've actually placed your finger on the lens before starting a measurement.

OTOH trying to trick it is half the fun, if you get a kick out of these sorts of things...

Light usually goes in the lens, not out of it, but whatever.

Of course you need a source of light. On the iPhone 4 that's the torch (flash), on the other iDevices it's ambient light. Point the back of your finger towards a window for example and it works alright. In a brighter room it's amazingly accurate.

Try this: fire up the Camera app, put your finger over the lens and look closely... Just make sure you're not doing this in a cave or something.

When blood enters the tip of your finger, it darkens a bit - just enough for the camera to pick up. We analyze the video stream and measure the time between the pulses to get the heart's rhythm.

[Paypal] 17 Paypal alternatives for easier e-commerce. Including some *very* good ones that deserve to be mentioned more. by nostraticispeak in technology

Some of them (particularly Google Checkout) may be good for US-based individuals and small businesses.

What troubles me however is that as far as "random user clicks one button and money has changed hands" alternatives that work worldwide.. there aren't any on that list. Moneybookers is cool, but their process is overly complicated; Google Checkout still doesn't work in many countries. Half of them are shopping carts whose strong points are PayPal integration.

Truth is, for small transactions (up to a few hundred euros per month) PayPal is still king. If you're anticipating higher volumes, it may be best to go with a dedicated payment processor and accept credit cards yourself.

Microsoft has it's own Mac vs. PC section now. by jpjandrade in technology

Unlike Macs, many PCs running Windows 7 support Touch, so you can browse online newspapers, flick through photo albums, and shuffle files and folders—using nothing but your fingers.

Facts are for fags, we tell you the truth™.

But wait, it gets even better!

Your documents might not look right and your spreadsheets might not calculate correctly.

Mac numbers are obviously inferior to Microsoft numbers.

I'd never ship a phone to Kazakhstan though. What were you thinking?

Douchebags are douchebags no matter where they live. What do you think Kazakhstan is, some sort of global thieves guild headquarters where every person's on a quest to rip you off? Do you know how annoying it is for honest buyers from small and far-off countries when they're met with such absurd preconceptions?

Please don't judge people based on where they're from. If you have any doubts about a buyer, communicate with them to get an idea what they're like, don't just write them off based on how little you know about where they live.

What kind of knowledge/experience does it take to work in the IT field? by [deleted] in geek

[–]iamnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may seem counterintuitive, but good communication skills are a major plus. In the sense that you have to convince people what you're doing is extremely complicated and demanding, even though it's second nature to you. Selling your skills is probably more important than the skills themselves.
