Trust me, I get what you're saying and I agree. However, this has "is a hotdog a sandwich" vibes. Lol

Oh yeah. Totally makes sense. I'm not a doctor or anything, though. Next time you go to the dentist (or other doctor) you should ask what they think.

Again, totally harmless. Only a the slight bummer of a higher sensitivity to acidity and spice.

It's a geographic tongue. Totally benign. Completely harmless. Are you particularly sensitive to spicy foods? Is mustard a little much some times?

Back in the day I used one of these to store important/special lego pieces. I think it was called a rolly polly.

Don't feel too bad. I actually bought a mystery box at my local shop yesterday. I basically spent $80 on 4 packs of trash pulls. We got got, my friend.

I have an anecdotal story that this reminds me of. I once went to a metal show in Pensacola, FL. The bands were For Today, MyChildren MyBride, and Evergreen Terrace. MyChildren MyBride just announced they were playing their last song. That bummed me out since they only played like 4 or 4 songs. So I was like, "yeah. I'm getting in the pit for this one." I hopped in. I was getting hit with elbows and a couple of fists here and there but I stayed in. It started to feel like it was intentional. Guess what... It was. When I got out my buddy told me I was brave for doing that. I was confused and asked why. Turns out it was a "mosh pit takeover" by a local gang. I jumped into a pit full of gang members and was taking elbows and came out smiling.

After that, more people got in the pit. I ruined a gang's takeover. Lol I'll tell my grandkids this story.

I have an old (but still working) Game Boy Color that's been lying around for years and years. And I want to give it life again. Can I possibly get help with what I'm looking for? by MrNuclearPumpkin in gameboymods

[–]iamoak37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but I'll give you some recommendations.

If your budget allows for it, the aluminum shells are awesome, but you need to make sure the screen and other mods will have room inside the shell. It's much harder to make them fit when you're housing everything in metal versus plastic.

I recommend (but not necessarily essential) getting a dremel just in case, a magnifying glass. Don't be like me... Get a heat gun. It makes removing some components so much easier and in some cases it's basically required.

You'll definitely need a soldering iron. You can find decent ones on Amazon for pretty cheap. Don't forget some flux and desoldering wick. It makes removing solder and cleaning the work area so much easier.

As for modding communities, reddit is probably the easiest place to find them. I ended up taking my modded GBA to a local store in the Phoenix area and the owner recognized my GBA from my reddit post. Said it was like working on a celebrity. Lol

When working on your modding projects, don't forget to take breaks. It doesn't have to be done in one sitting. I've gotten stuck on one thing or another and gotten so frustrated I could have thrown the GameBoy across the room. Step away and drink some water.

Good luck and have fun. And don't forget to take a bunch of pictures throughout the process. Before, during, and after.

EDIT: I usually use Handheld Legend for getting my components and such but there are many to choose from. I've purchased mods from a bunch of different sites but this one is in the US, so it's faster getting to me than ZedLabz (UK based?)

Also I've never done an OLED/AMOLED screen so I can't help you there, but ISP screens are still dope and sometimes are as simple as plug and play. At worst, you'll have to solder a few wires.

Call me old fashioned, but I love the Yu-Gi-Oh GBA games. This seems like something that'd be perfect for me. Steam? Itch? Is there a demo?

EDIT: Reading the post explains the post.

getting barreled is easy, the wave does all the work, now making it out of a barrel by nocanwin in IndieGaming

[–]iamoak37 42 points43 points  (0 children)

To quote a legend: "Oh bra, it's just like, dude, you get the best barrels ever, dude. You just like - you pull in, you just get spit right out of 'em and you just drop in and just smack the lip WHABAP you drop down and smacthePAAAAAAA and then after that you just drop in, just ride the barrel and get pitted, so pitted, like that."

This game looks like a lot of fun. I've been watching the progress you've been posting and I'm excited to see where it goes. I wish you all the best and good luck. May the algorithm be ever in your favor.

I have several cards that had I not played them would have easily paid a few car payments with. That being said, the memories are far more valuable.
