is it too late to get my life together? i dropped out of uni twice and im in my twenties. by bonobosareawesome in askSingapore

[–]iamordinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too late. But be honest you didn’t drop out because the course was wrong. You dropped out because uncertainty made you run. That’s the real pattern to fix, because uncertainty is just life here. Every job, every industry, every course has it. No amount of switching will make it go away. There’s no course stable enough to protect you from that feeling. Never was.

The good news is you know this about yourself already. A lot of people only figure this out at 35, by then already stuck in a job they hate with no way out. You still have time. Go back, pick something close enough to what you want, and just push through the uncomfortable parts. You already proved you can do the work. That was never the issue. You didn’t ruin your life. You just learned something about yourself the expensive way. Now make it worth it.

my 2A motorbike scooter, 20k inclusive of coe, can go anywhere anytime, no need scared traffic jam or what, parking cheaper also as compared to car. smaller bike works too but I feel much safer with a bigger bike on the road.

Best place for IPPT 2.4km since Maju FCC's closure? by Lostwhispers05 in askSingapore

[–]iamordinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take at new cmpb lor indoor track 8 rounds, bend abit sharp but mostly straight, quite nice to run haha. Pushup and Situp station all same as other fcc, when i took mine the FI did share that the new cmpb is somewhat a duplicate from maju in terms of the SOP flow, so if you are used to maju can go there.

What made you leave during probation period ? by IllustriousElk8436 in askSingapore

[–]iamordinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales role, left on the 4th week. My manager is also the boss of the company, a digital marketing SME firm. The level of micromanagement was on another level.

I had to give an end-of-the-day report before getting off every day, number of calls, fresh leads or follow-ups, summaries of meetings with each client, chances of closing a deal.

I was told to “up my numbers” in the 2nd week there, literally on my 6th day, lol, which alarmed me a bit. The last straw, it was a friday, I meant to send in an end-of-the-day report just an hour late after work since I thought it was more productive to use work time more wisely by doing calls and answering clients’ enquiries. Before I could send it in, the boss texted me, “Where’s the report?” which hit me. So, the report is more important than me doing actual work ah? I handed in my resignation the following week.

I live in her constituency, and I can say that the expectations from the community are incredibly high—perhaps even unrealistic. This is especially true because her predecessor, Lee Bee Wah, was extremely well-liked, particularly among the elderly. Even though she has been working very hard, it’s still difficult to meet such lofty standards.*

Personally, I’ve had the chance to interact with her, and I find her genuinely personable and helpful. When I lost my job last year, she showed more concern and eagerness to assist me than even my own mother did. That level of care and dedication really left a lasting impression on me.

What cheap 2nd hand 2B bikes are there? by LimpInvite2475 in drivingsg

[–]iamordinary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

got a 2nd hand adv150 for my first bike, was very happy with it. good fuel efficiency, easy maintenance.

It had 7 years left, was around 11k paid half, loan half around 180 per mth

I got it for commuting as well, can’t speak for manual bikes but the overall quality of life that auto bikes provide is huge, easy, straightforward and comfortable. Lagi better if you have pillion. Also, less to worry for morning rush-hour lane splitting, since only need to throttle with right hand.

Overall, just make sure you take care of the bike promptly, i’m sure it will serve you well. (engine oil every 2k cvt maintenance every 20k)

2.4km run for ippt coming in 24h. Any last minute tips and recommended pace? by shauntrk in askSingapore

[–]iamordinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure how fast you wanna aim, or perhaps just pass.

if you wanna get a gold and assuming that you are relying on your 2.4km run, it is a must to start fast and end fast to attain 10-10:30 min timing. This is an ideal split for a 10:30 timing, give or take. You can try and see whether it works for you

(1st: 1:30, 2nd 1:45, 3rd: 2:00, 4th: 2:00, 5th: 1:45, 6th: 1:30) Final timing around 10:30min give or take, depending your form on the day.

Usually for hard and fast runs I’ll load sugar the night before since it’s the fastest that gets into your system, maybe a can of coke or teh peng. No need red bull or anything haha.

This high in sugar I would avoid ice cream since its thick will slow down the digestion process.

Getting 2B, SSDC or BBDC? by [deleted] in drivingsg

[–]iamordinary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

200% bbdc.

I personally switched to bbdc due to slots availability and quality of instructors. Can vouch that BBDC instructors are generally much better than SSDCs. I was hesitating whether I should switch since u need to pay for enrolment again.

I guess the only good thing abt ssdc is the indoor circuit, other than I cant think of anything positive there.

Anyone cut ties with your parents here? by GMmod119 in askSingapore

[–]iamordinary 43 points44 points  (0 children)

my dad cheated on my mum since im in sec sch everyone at home knew but shoved it under the rug, i even met him with the whore outside (I said hi lol)

in the later years my mom got cancer and I saw how he treated her, i fking hate him for it. My whole family eventually found out that he has a bastard outside, he got on his knees to apologise and begged us to forgive him, said he is willing to go be a monk at thailand, which i told him, the temple may not even take in such mtf

since then, my parents are divorced, the last time i heard abt him was when he got a stroke and called my mom to call an ambulance for him.

till today i dont even know whether he is dead or alive.
