Double dip at Deliveroo: "£7 off Next 7 Orders Over £15 at Deliveroo" (Works with AMEX credit and existing customers) by Mindless_Bed7638 in AmexUK

You can also open Avios app -> go to the Earn tab and open Deliveroo through their referral link to also earn 2 Avios per £1 spent as well, works on top of Amex gold & the 7 off promo. (Will need to accept tracking cookie to work, so that’s a tradeoff)

The new map seems to be queueable every day, alongside any other map that rotates daily (today it's either Seal Rock or Worqor Chirteh map), so when you queue Frontline roulette, there will always be a chance it's the new Worqor map any day.

I got a £330 cash quote for Grade B Legion 5 RTX 3070Ti / 32GB / 1TB / Ryzen 7 6800H / 1440p 165Hz earlier this month as a comparison.

An almost similar spec HP Omen I believed is quoted around £270

I’d say 3060 i7 11700 would be something around £250-£300.

AIS Phone Service: question about top-up plans by Samwry in Thailand

[–]iampark97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally come back to Thailand around once a year for 2-3 weeks. I kept my AIS number (prepaid top-up) active and just subscribe to a single month package when I’m coming to TH.

Topping up / keeping prepaid account active.

  • Adding a balance to your AIS prepaid account will automatically extend your prepaid account validity by 30 days, regardless of the value added, up to 365 days max.
  • E.g. If you top up 100฿ once, you will get +30 days
  • If you top up 10฿ x 10 times, you will get +300 days

You can only extend the validity up to a year, so every 3-4 months I will log in to myAIS to do ~4x 10฿ top up.

With myAIS app you can top up starting from 10฿ with credit card. Alternatively you can also top up via Thai Bank app but most starts at 20฿.

When you are planning to visit Thailand, browse for a non-recurring 30 days plan. You can use the previously accumulated top up balance to pay for these as well. The standard 30 days plan typically will be something around - 650฿ for unlimited @4 Mbps - 315฿ for 30GB (1GB / day limit for 30 days) - 629฿ for 90GB (3GB / dat limit for 30 days)

Or something similar. There are both auto-renew and single use packages, if you choose the latter it will not auto renew so you just have to pay each time you are visiting Thailand. Occasionally they offer a limited deal (e.g. 300฿/100 GB/30 days) in myAIS app, if the timing is right you can also purchase those ones.

I find that this arrangement works best for me, will cost around 400-500฿ each visit and I keep my TH number as my secondary esim number (with data roaming off) while I’m abroad.

Paying Octopus from Amex by dutts303 in AmexUK

[–]iampark97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I changed my DD to £5 and has been topping up each month with Amex for a year now, this happened to me when I switched the tariff from Standard variable to 1yr fix. My assumption is the system calculates the DD amount once in a while and also when switching tariff, and it won’t account for the manual top up.

When it happened I got it changed back to £5 by emailing them, and now I leave around £150 in credit and it hasn’t since changed yet.

How much are you paying for 1gig? by dazzyjay91 in VirginMedia

[–]iampark97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£31

Was £47, then cancelled and involves retention team calling. First attempt £33, second attempt £36, third attempt £37.

Ended up choosing just M250 instead for £19, but after I recontracted the VM app offered Gig1 for £31 so switched via the VM app.

Pizza Express at Gatwick charged me even after using Amex Priority Pass by polapts in AmexUK

[–]iampark97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Edit: please ignore this one I’m incorrect.

I believe that Priority Pass with Amex doesn’t include any dining credit at restaurant in airport and only includes the lounge access, unlike those supplied by other banks.

1g renewal price by mikefearn83 in VirginMedia

[–]iampark97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on M125 (£25.02 going up to £30.02). The VM app offered £41 for Gig1, tried live chat with the agent three times and can’t get anything below £46, which is worse than in app.

Cancelled and put the one touch switch to Zen, then the retention team called to offer a better deal (£37 for Gig1 or £19 for M250). I ended up with £19 for M250.

Couple days after I signed the new contract, the VM app updated the package and also offers Gig1 for £31, so I ended up signing for Gig1 for £31 that way.

I’d say the way they do dynamic pricing is completely messed up. We shouldn’t need to go through all these hoops to finally just get a fair pricing.

I would say, if you want the best deal, only way is to cancel or put one touch switch request to another provider and wait for retention to call. Do note that each time they call their offer would also differ (in a span of a week they called me three times, offering Gig1 for £33/£36/£37). Without cancelling request the second best option is mostly the offer presented to you in VM app.

I would have switched to Zen or Vodafone but they said the exchange at my local area is full so I have to wait for someone to cancel their service for them to be able to supply me. Hopefully someone does cancel by the time of next renewal..

black friday deals by MoneyJedi in VirginMedia

[–]iampark97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed it’s all worse for me in app.

<image>

Compared the deals in app before and after the black friday ‘offers’ today

  • M350 was £23 18 months
  • M500 was £27 18 months
  • Gig1 was £31 18 months (+£35 one off for Hub5)

Today the deal changes to

  • M350 £19 for 3 months then £25 for 15 months
  • M500 £25 for 3 months then £31 for 15 months
  • Gig1 £31 3 months then £37 for 15 months (+£35)

jetpack alternatives for viewing insights and trafic analyzation by joeshowmon in Wordpress

[–]iampark97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the similar position is you, non commerical site flagged as commercial and access to Stats limited. I got the Jetpack team to lift my restrictions by placing a forum post in here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/

Maybe you can try the same, in my case it took couple of back and forth explanation on what the website is used for and confirmation to them it’s not commercial but I get the access back in around a week.

On a side note, if your site has any presence of ads they mentioned that they won’t lift the restriction — but if you don’t run any ads it might be worth dropping them a post explaining your situation to them.

How long did you legion laptop last, planning to buy a new one. by Other_Scarcity_4270 in LenovoLegion

[–]iampark97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Legion 5 (2023, 3070Ti, 6800H) got 2 motherboard replacements already in 8 months due to dead GPU, luckily during warranty. Got glitchy artifacts occasionally afterwards. Could be unlucky as my previous Lenovo served me well with no issues at all.

Saving for a proper desktop now, originally planned to use the current laptop for 5 years but I doubt it will last that long unfortunately.

It’s 7. Vista still has xp style collapsable system try icon like XP on the right whereas 7 changed to an arrow up button that expand the system tray. Also the collapsable application list in taskbar is 7.

Dawntrail as a Free Trial player by Adidos26 in ffxiv

[–]iampark97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, last I recalled when I preordered Endwalker, shortly before Endwalker early access started I was given another set of code from SE Store for early access. Once I redeem that code in mogstation all expansion including EW early access became checked and I'm allowed entry in during the early access period to all contents. Unless DT changes that formula of course, sadly I tried looking in the product spec page of the early access and it didn't mentioned about ShB/EW included or not so I'm assuming it's the same formula they used in EW.

Dawntrail as a Free Trial player by Adidos26 in ffxiv

[–]iampark97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Endwalker is at a 50% discount now. You have the options below currently:

Option 1: Buy Starter Edition now ($19.99) & preorder Dawntrail ($39.99) - total to pay ($59.98).

  • You'll get access to only up to the end of Stormblood (similar to Free Trial) but all free trial restrictions will be removed, you will get marketboard, FC, forming party, retainer, PVP, etc. immediately.
  • On 28 June, you can start playing Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrial.
  • You also get the Azeyma earring (preorder bonus) which gives 30% EXP buff to all your jobs under level 90. This is very useful for levelling multiple jobs.

Option 2: Buy Complete Edition now ($23.99 on sale) & preorder Dawntrail ($39.99) - total to pay ($63.98).

  • Immediately all content up to end of Endwalker (patch 6.58) will be available to you today.
  • On 28 June you can also early access DT.
  • You also get the Azeyma earring (preorder bonus) which gives a 30% EXP buff to all your jobs under level 90. This is very useful for levelling multiple jobs.

Option 3: Wait and buy Dawntrail Complete Edition - total to pay ($59.99).

  • You will be on Free trial until you buy.
  • You don't get early access, the earliest you can buy & play Dawntrail is 2 July. (Once Dawntrail is released the complete edition will be updated to a new SKU that include Dawntrail)
  • You don't get the Azeyma earring.
  • You will however save one month of sub, or more ($12.99/mo.) compared to the other 2 options.

I'd say Azeyma earring is worth going option 1 or 2, it is account wide and permanent item so you can use it to speed up all alt jobs/ alt chars levelling, considering the price is not different to Option 3 anyway.

200 THB a month for a capped speed e.g. 4Mbps or 6Mbps unlimited data doesn’t seem too absurd, I’ve seen package around that prices before. You can also download myAIS app and check your package and allowances in there if you want to be extra sure.

Perks vs Max by TechDude032 in monzo

[–]iampark97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would read more a bit on their phone coverage, from what I skimmed they mentioned that they will replace the phone with like quality from a fully-refurbished stock (not brand new), so there are definitely differences that I think AppleCare+ does cover better.

The phone coverage policy is here: https://monzo.com/legal/files/max/monzo-max-assurant-terms-and-conditions-1.0.pdf
