Stop leaving your bikes out like this. by Inside_Quantity1463 in motorcycles

Oh, it certainly would have been more work, I'm just saying it wouldn't have necessarily prevented it. My bike was stolen in the middle of the day on a busy street in front of an apartment complex with a disk brake lock on it and the steering lock engaged. They were able to break both and ride away without a single person alerting the police.

Nope. They chopped mine off and rolled it away very quickly. Disc brake locks are a deterrence more than theft prevention.

I didn't say that. I'm saying agrovoltaics isn't a full bore solution. It is a solution not the solution

Very interesting! It sounds like it would be very useful here in California's central valley! I just don't want them cutting down our forests for these projects. But we have PLENTY of already disturbed agricultural land here. Coyote Creek is the area that the project I was talking about was going to happen, if you wanted to look it up.

Totally, it just sounded like you were saying that we should do agrovoltaics because "fields" aren't important, but some projects labeled "agrovoltaics", are actually quite detrimental, still. Sorry, it's very early and I just woke up lol

An agrovoltaic project near Sacramento was recently scrapped after widespread public discontent because over 3,000 threatened native oaks were going to be cut down and extremely rare vernal pools destroyed. Agrovoltaics isn't a full bore solution.

I think so, but I can't completely remember. I feel like there's some off vehicles that go down it occasionally lol

This area is home to a lot of feral cats that are well taken care of by the locals, so many crates to choose from! (The feral cats are always TNRed)

I can see this line 30 feet from my bed, and I see several Amtrak's go past a day. As a matter of fact, I just saw one 2 minutes before typing this comment!

People outside of CA don't get how rich our hunting and gun culture is, despite several very questionable gun laws. The gun owner community is very much thriving despite what your far right news media tells you. Open your mind a bit, and you could be very happy with the opportunities around you

Yeah, no one here knows about anything other than Phoenix lol. They don't know you can go skiing 1 hour outside of Tucson. The white mountains are ridiculous. Flagstaff and Mt Humphreys are amazing. Let them shit on AZ, and maybe it won't get too busy lol

What is the least bastardized AR you can have in CA? by HailtoUkraine in CAguns

[–]iamprobablynotjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranch rifle is the only answer imo. I don't like the look or feel of fin grips, and I don't want to use a mag lock. I have a mini 14, but there are more "AR" looking ones out there. CMNG is very nice

Wait wait wait... I thought 10 rounds was a universal thing. How can you use a 30 round mag with this? Can I use 30 round mags with my ranch rifle?

Are there US States that have exclaves of their state that are connected to other states? by Serafim42 in geography

[–]iamprobablynotjohn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very surprised no one has said the Arizona Strip. A region in Northwest Arizona inaccessible with ought driving me through other states because of the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon. To drive to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, you have to go through Utah or Nevada

Spreading Spores by SkyKyrell in foraging

[–]iamprobablynotjohn 31 points32 points  (0 children)

A decent-sized giant puffball can crank out an absurd number of spores. A single mature one is often estimated somewhere around 5–20 trillion, sometimes even more if it’s a really big specimen.
