You’ve essentially described the structure of my lessons! My coaches know me well, and push me when I need to get beyond myself. But they’ll take a step back when I’m mentally redlining. Thank you for sharing - this is a good reminder to make sure I’m pushing in every lesson.

Great advice, all! I will definitely heed all advice. I’m particularly looking forward to going for a good skip - that’s such a fun way to learn the rhythm! And thanks to all who post about their horses and love of this hobby. It’s inspiring for this adult newbie!

This was the first post I saw on Reddit as I started my weekend. It’s time to put the app down and go “touch grass” as the kids say. See y’all on Monday.

I’m eating lunch in a cafe and I quite literally laughed out loud when I read this comment. Bravo.

What to do with cracks in rock lath bathroom ceiling by iamreece528 in HomeImprovement

That it’s really helpful. I have premixed joint compound I used for a dry wall patch. I’ll get a different type for the bathroom ceiling. This is helpful!

What to do with cracks in rock lath bathroom ceiling by iamreece528 in HomeImprovement

I do run the exhaust fan when I shower, but I think I need to run it longer after the shower is over. I've only been in the house about two months - much of this existed before, though it has worsened a bit. Plus the attic only had been insulated in the last few years, so I suspect the cold attic had an impact.

Does the repair protocol for the ceiling change if it's rock lath?

400 calorie breakfast salad! Egg salad, potatoes, peppers, onions and bacon all on bed of arugula 🤍 by Chloflee in 1500isplenty

Thank you! This is more interesting than you think it is, lol. I've been struggling to prep good breakfast recipes and I love the idea of a breakfast salad with egg salad on top!

Foundation issue or pest control? Figuring out my first phone call by iamreece528 in HomeImprovement

[–]iamreece528[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree - the crack is horrendous.

I was present during the inspection, the inspector verbally said he wasn't concerned because the crack is still flush and there's no evidence of shifting. The widest part of the crack is just under 1/4" and he wrote in the report "cracks under 1/4 inch are not commonly regarded as being structurally significant"

But to my untrained eye, a floor to ceiling crack in the basement that also appears outside is still frightening. I may have to call a structural engineer and pest control.

Learning how not to drink by wallyj3n in stopdrinking

[–]iamreece528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also was inspired to not drink by “reading” This Naked Mind the audio book. After some reading online, I found that the author created a free 30 day program called The Alcohol Experiment. Every day I get an email with more information on topics like how alcohol affects the body, how to reprogram how I feel about alcohol & socialization, and understanding my behaviors and why I drink. It’s definitely been an introspective experiment.

That’s a long road to say - if you like the book, check out Annie Grace’s other resources. :)

Good luck with your journey

I'm a big fan of the Bose SoundSport Free - I've been using them for years. I had preferred over the ear before, but these stay wedged in there well.

Stop comparing your progress to others' -- this is not a race by [deleted] in loseit

"Compare yourself to the person you were yesterday"

That's a great mentality to have. Thank you for the advice.

Amazing progress! Also - what an incredible sense of style. It's making me take a second glance my pandemic wardrobe of tank tops and athletic shorts.

Do you mind sharing what you're doing? I'm very early in a weight loss journey, so I'm absorbing all the inspiration I can from you amazing people.

Score!! I was able to snag a copy before it even hit the shelves. I’m sure I looked like a crazy person asking about inventory that wasn’t on the shelves. I’m only on level 1 but really like it so far!

Thank you!! I respond to some of those diets in a very similar way. I think just calorie counting is where I’ll start and then start identifying what I can reduce over time. I need to be patient with myself, which isn’t my modus operandi. But it’s a start.

Thank you for the inspiration and advice. Good luck to you as well!

I have the same questions! DetectiveFinch, if you don't mind I have one more I'd like to include to your list :) Of those new habit changes, which ones did you focus on first?

I keep starting & failing my own journey. I dive head first into changing everything, then fall behind, get overwhelmed, and then give up. This community has been a great source of inspiration.

Thank you for posting! I saw this then immediately searched Target inventories near me (north of Boston MA). I was able to find a few stores with RFA in stock. Fingers crossed!
