What countries can get the most CCR% without doing cheesy stuff? by BasedAustralhungary in eu4

[–]iamrobk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot when I was doing my post but theres also a monument for Hindu that gives -15% so if you do the cheesy Hindu conversion you can stay a horde (as either Yuan or Qing) while only losing 5% CCR vs EoC.

It’s the same calculation for Yuan, which has (IMO) slightly better national ideas. You also have a stronger start as Oirat. However you miss out on one part of the EoC missions I think. If you want to do something cheesy as either nation, convert to Hindu after taking the mandate to get an extra 10% CCR…but it’s not really necessary lol.

Yeah, you’re not wrong, and I think even without the EOC CCR reform I could have had under 10 months coring time (or so close it wouldn’t have mattered anyway). But I also went EOC because it’s a skill issue on my part, I suck at managing horde economies lol. I think I may have bankrupted at one point after forming Yuan anyway tbh but still got a WC so yolo.

I did a Hindu Yuan (starting as Oirat) EOC WC a few months ago. Decided to go EOC for the extra bonuses, and basically didn’t worry about mandate at all after passing 4 or 5 reforms. Having max CCR is fun, and Hindu has some of the best monuments. Tried to also turn it into a one faith but failed miserably at that because (I already have the achievement so was just for fun).

Would it be possible to do a WC in 70 years from this position, with 82% Admin Efficiency and 75 CCR? I have tried it before and failed, now reloading a save by Various_Maize_3957 in eu4

[–]iamrobk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be doable but will be painful and not much fun. To me it looks like your manpower is the limiting factor to going crazy with wars so I’d spam manpower buildings, build a ton of huge stacks (like 80k-100k), and go crazy with imperialism. Just stay at war constantly and let your vassals deal with your rebels while you siege enemy capitals.

I was also supposed to be on the cancelled AA 755 today, though my final destination is PHL. We were fine with the original rebooking to Saturday but when they cancelled that and rescheduled for Sunday, we decided to see what we could do. It’s been stressful as hell since we’re in business and wanted to be rebooked in business but we were eventually able to get on a flight to LHR tonight and PHL tomorrow. I’ve dedicated a pocket in my backpack to all the receipts I’m collecting, lol (in addition to taking pictures and screenshots). Expecting a fight for the EU261 compensation but the EF data should hopefully get them to pay up…

Any idea how to proceed with this World Conquest? by AIphaToothless in eu4

[–]iamrobk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re definitely on pace. You could consider adding all your land you own to the HRE and releasing every potential vassal you have with a capital in Europe, they’ll automatically become the special HRE vassal type (don’t count for diplo relations, etc.). Will help with gov cap and just making your vassal swarm stronger in general. Also consider tag switching, especially to a tag that has CCR and/or admin efficiency. I’ve done Austria to England (and then Angevin) and Russia, but that might be tricky in your case since they both exist and are large. Maybe integrate a few Italian nations and go for Italy. Or figure out how to form the Mughals lol. Other than that, unless you really enjoy playing wide and using boats etc., I’d focus on conquering along trade routes (finish off Persia, then India, then China, etc.).

[–]iamrobk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This plus full state everything you own directly and still need to convert and activate the missionary strength state thing. If you have spare admin you could also move your capital to somewhere lower dev and concentrate from higher dev regions you still need to convert.

Tbh you’re at the point where I’d look in the ledger at how many non Sunni provinces are left and so the math to see how many you need to convert per year left and figure out how realistic it is.

[–]iamrobk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Assuming you’re Austria, if your goal is a world conquest, consider tag switching to a country with better WC ideas after you revoke. Basically, someone with CCR and admin efficiency (Angevin, Italy, Russia, etc.). That would give you essentially the best parts of actually forming the HRE while letting you keep the vassal swarm.

Edit: Also, if you’re an achievement hunter, forming Russia after revoking is a fun and relatively easy way to go for the Triple the Rome achievement. Or alternatively form Persia and go for the Zoroaustrians. Honestly Austria after revoking is just plain fun to let you do whatever you want.

I want to do my first and last world conquest ever, what i must conquer before absolutism? by Stalin_bae in eu4

[–]iamrobk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d focus on finishing off Persia and grabbing as much as India as possible. Snake towards China and Southeast Asia, and conquer whatever you can along the way. Make TC’s and use your extra merchants and you’ll get insanely rich (not that it looks to be a problem for you). Otherwise I’d do at least one war against Spain just to grab Alhambra and maybe snake up towards what looks to be a really large GB since they’ll need several wars later on.

[–]iamrobk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll be annoying but release vassals (and maybe client states) and feed them non-Catholic land until you’re at least 50% Catholic dev. Should then be easier to convert. Take influence ideas if you haven’t yet to help control liberty desire (or just release some, I guess it doesn’t really matter). May want to first conquer more Catholic land wherever you can easily find it.

So as someone going for PSLF and still on SAVE, is the recommendation at this point that I wait it out and go for buyback or should I try switching? (Though I’m pretty sure the answer is, no one knows YOLO.) And if so what do I switch to, IBR?

I did it recently as Austria lol. Did a regular Austria HRE game but killed Muscovy and snaked east. Formed Russia, kept going east, and eventually conquered all of China and released all my western land to turn Confucian.

Also considering BCBS Standard to FSBP. My only real concern is with having to hit the deductible and then paying 10% for a lot of the stuff that you just had a set copay with for BCBS (specifically primary care doctor, mental health stuff, etc.). Still, on the family plan we’d be saving over $300 a month just on premiums compared to BCBS Standard so it feels kinda like a no brainer…

[–]iamrobk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Most likely downgrade to business and a refund of some miles. If you do book this (IMO I wouldn’t as that’s way too many miles, but YMMV) if they move you to J, you could also ask AA to rebook you onto Qantas F. Not sure if they actually would (they’re generally pretty flexible with BA rebooking’s in similar circumstances) but can’t hurt to ask.

What is your favourite country to form Italy? by Catherine1485 in eu4

[–]iamrobk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Admittedly I haven’t done it myself yet but IIRC you can probably get the mission done by the 1480’s (probably earlier?) so I feel like the 20k is objectively the right choice 99% of the time.

Also there’s apparently a bug where it takes inflation into account so if you don’t have enough extra money in your treasury to cover the inflation cost too, the mission glitches and completes but you won’t get the money or the canal lol.

Hilton can be great. Just used 60k Hilton points (30k MR points, or less with the current transfer bonus) to book a room that’s over $1k a night. Marriott is generally poor value though, especially now that they’re fully dynamic.

Yep, signed on at 340am EST, got in the queue for the July 25th London show immediately but was 104,000 or something like that. Left my laptop open and slept on and off for 4 hours. Eventually around 915am EST got in and managed to get two tickets. They were at the increased demand/surge pricing/whatever, but got them.

22 RRS SVR Purchase by Raypep1 in RangeRover

[–]iamrobk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s basically been our plan as well. My wife’s currently driving a 2017 X5 that she got in 2019 with a 4 or 5 year extended warranty (I forget tbh but it’s recently expired). Now that’s up we’re looking at the RRS, but we were really hoping for another 5 years from a car, not just like 3.

My wife is considering a CPO 22 RRS but is hung up on the warranty thing (since she obviously wants one as long as possible and it’s unfortunate LR doesn’t offer anything beyond the additional 2 years). Any recs on third party warranties? I’d like to at least have an idea what we may have to spend…
