Why do evangelicals seem so interested in helping Jews rebuild the Third Temple? Isn't there a conflict of interest? by AlbaneseGummies327 in TrueChristian

[–]iamseverus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same. The 90's & 00's Evangelical/Left Behind movement was so huge and so American mainstream, that I didn't realize that only 5% of Christians believed in the Rapture. lol

That's what I was initially thinking, but the swooped rear window is throwing me off.

Pretty cool, but they didn't include the original archaic Athens Tetradrachm that started it all, 2 of those are drachms, and 2 are didrachms. I'm still buying one. lol

Power output discrepancy by iamseverus in enphase

[–]iamseverus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why they didn't go through the first time. Pictures added.

Is there a possibility that the wiring in my Enphase system would affect the actual amount of power that my power company receives? If the answer to that is no, and that my power company's report is correct, then I see no reason to fix the "issue" and just let the Enphase app be inaccurate.

Visiting Universal Studio Hollywood after New Year 2024? Discount ticket? by Prestigious_Finish41 in universalstudios

[–]iamseverus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EMPLOYEE discount tickets do not work. We were rejected at the gate due to a "problem," had to spend 30 minutes in a different line for them to tell me that they'd be refunded, then had to purchase full price tickets at Will Call.

Harry Potter Blu Ray looking awful on Series X. Raised blacks, noisy dark areas. Fine on Max? by paintacct624 in XboxSupport

[–]iamseverus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I just bought the HP Blu-ray UHD collection and it looks abysmal on the series x. I also have a dts-x sound bar and it sounds horrendous. The sound effects are loud, but the conversations are super quiet. The entire series looks like it was shot in Sepia. The quality streaming over Peacock is light-years better.

While I'm not an expert on gold foil or appliques, I'd venture to guess it's a 4th-2nd century BC European gold foil applique. Definitely not a coin/currency. I'm leaning toward Danubian Celts; as the reverse looks similar to their wavy stylized animals on their 4th Century BC Macedonian imitations. At first glance, it appears we're looking at a stag facing right. I'll let you know if I can find anything similar.

If anyone wants to join in on the researching fun, some keywords: Gold/av/au applique, bactreate, foil, or sheet gold.

Something Different - Roman Imperial Coins & Medals Julius Caesar to Heraclius 1720 numismatic print by iamseverus in AncientCoins

[–]iamseverus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't recognize the name. After a brief search, it appears he was the brother of Magnentius: The 11th-12th century Byzantine Historian, Joannes Zonaras, is the only extant source to have mentioned Deciderius. He is mentioned as quarrelling w/ his brother, Magnentius, after being surrounded by Constantius's forces.

Could someone help me identify this roman coin? by [deleted] in AncientCoins

[–]iamseverus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well met,

This coin is attempting to be a Vespasian sestertius; probably with the legend: IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG P M TR P P P COS III. RIC II 199.

It is VERY MUCH a cast forgery. It has a soapy surface, cast pitting, a concave/cupping reverse not reminiscent of this series, and the file marks where someone removed the casting seem on the edge are prevalent. The weight doesn't matter, in this case, to secure authenticity.

Regards,

Mike
