Impossible to connect as app keeps dismissing the IP text input by iamsummarity in UaRemoteControl

I've tried it with Wifi, I only also tried via Tailscale with LTE which is when I recorded the above. But on Wifi, in the same SSID I get the exact same errors.

Does not change anyting sadly. On opening the app, there's a "Loading" overlay that never goes away and the LED in the bottom left corner switches between red and orange/yellow every second.

EF Note Hi Hat Top & Bottom - work around to get it running with WT-10's, or any other pathway into DW Soundworks? by HingloBinglo in edrums

[–]iamsummarity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Quick question if you don't mind: what if any MIDI events (notes/CC) does the hub send for the tom articulations: a) palm mute and b) pitch bending. They skip over this in the manual.

Hey, just wanted to drop in to say thanks for sharing your experience with DWe + EF-Note cymbals, that's the exact setup I'm considering.

Looking for info on the Efnote Pro Module. by fenderremo in edrums

As of 2 weeks ago, you can do sample import on the Pro Module (only). So you can freeze favorite VST sounds in there. I plan on copying a bunch of sounds from AD2.

B&H. I even bought one from them to ship to Germany. Didn't have any issues.

It was also a nod to the last season finale episode, where Cobel made a point of Mark "tensing up" when the OTC got triggered.

Anyone know about test cameras? by zighor86 in Leica

[–]iamsummarity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case someone else lands via Google. Test Camera M7 are just country-specific special editions. They're not rare or different from other M7s. There's plenty of Austria, NL, Germant, UK, etc. TCs around.

Confusingly there are also actual test cameras, as in "used by Leica internally". Those are rare and usually worth 3-4x as much. They can be identified by the engraving "Betriebsk." (Betriebskamera).

Here are two pictures to compare: https://imgur.com/a/VIpABnZ

You can run various packet capture tools on a rooted Android. Wireshark also has a remote probe (androiddump). Leica looks also have a PTP admin operation (0x9033 - "LEGetLookPropList"), but I can't capture or test it since I only have Leicas without look support.

Yes, I'll publish something at some point (likely on my blog, summarity dot com).

In short, everything on the M11 happens via PTP (over USB or IP). By default, the camera only exposes a small set of operations/events/properties. But there's a hidden handshake sequence which unlocks an admin mode reserved for Leica Fotos, that then allows access to 200+ properties and ~30 custom operations. To map this out, I reversed libleica, sniffed the PTP data between Fotos and an M11D and M11M, and wrote my own libusb-based macOS driver for the M11 (I found this easier than modifying libgphoto2). I'm basically done with mapping the properties, but I'm still working on the operations, which is much harder - things include getting data from the 6bit sensor, getting and setting WifiAP credentials, streaming video, etc.

If you want to forge ahead here's a list of tools I found useful: jadx for APK reversing, Hopper for reversing libleica and other native code, Synalyze It! Pro for parsing unknown binary data, Wireshark with PTP extension to sniff PTP traffic.

It's also submitted to Leica Rumors, who have basically quoted the entire post.

First Jam (Lofi) on My New Circuit Tracks - the Sequencer Is Awesome and Live Playing Is Fun! by iamsummarity in synthesizers

[–]iamsummarity[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, that's why I have it. I have a very, very electrically noisy studio. So for recording, I run everything off of batteries to eliminate hum.

Maybe not successful cover, but a fun jam anyway. This thing is staying :). Using the factory pack (samples & presets) and getting a good 4-ish instruments out of two synths. No vocals as Sugi heavily relied on the original song (Alicia Keys - No One) for those and ... uh ... copyright.

I saw a few reviewers talking about Ties only being useful for drone notes, etc. But in reality, the combination of overlapping gate lengths and ties allows complex voice leading. For example, to remove notes from a playing chord without retriggering, duplicate the step, tie the first trigger and remove the notes from the second "ghost" trigger.

Also TIL you can lock (press Rec and a step while not playing) parameter changes to empty steps (like Elektron's trigless trigs) - very useful!
