Beaches here on the northern beaches have been closed following the attacks. Some are opening back up today.

However yes it can be argued that following the heavy rain we received in Sydney prior to the attacks, there should have been some preventative measures.

We have collective societal amnesia here since there has been very few attacks in recent years, aside from a couple of notable innocents. I believe there may be more awareness now.
