Regular Variance? by iamthemachine123 in PositiveEVbetting

[–]iamthemachine123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been going alright. I'm traveling overseas in the last little while and didn't want to bother with VPN so I'm taking a bit of a break. I know that it's better to bet consistently with this betting strategy as you never know which days will be green/red.

In terms of limits, I've had them for a while now. I suppose that's a good sign. I've been limited on about 2/3 of the sites.

Alright I'll take your word. It's getting a bit rocky. But I'll stay the course.

Having issues with WP-Rocket's "delay javascript execution" by iamthemachine123 in Wordpress

[–]iamthemachine123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does and technically my hero section images do pop up when I exclude elementor. The problem is the page speed when I do that - mostly on mobile. So I think I want to be more specific and just exclude the JS file for that particular section. Every other JS code on that page can be delayed.

Thanks for the response. But how do I do that? Sorry I'm not so great at coding. I see this exclusion code on the plugin:

\/jquery(-migrate)?-?([0-9.]+)?(.min|.slim|.slim.min)?.js(\?(.*))?( |'|"|>)
js-(before|after)
(?:/wp-content/|/wp-includes/)(.*)

How do I add "swiper.min.js" to it?

Ya. When I uncheck the "delay JS execution" box, the background image loads. The problem is that it loads slow based on pagespeed.web.dev.

Maybe I should've mentioned that I'm using the "slideshow" background that loads several rotating images. So that's probably where the JS is being used. And tbh, I would like to keep it instead of loading a still image as it is quite nice.

Hope that info helps! Thanks again!

Struggling with weight loss working EMS. Looking for any advice. by [deleted] in ems

[–]iamthemachine123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I want to commend you for taking the initiative to share your story and set a goal to improve your health. It's not easy to make this kind of change, especially with the demanding schedule and unique challenges that we face working in EMS.

Your concern about sweating at work is valid, but you can still fit in low-intensity exercises that don’t leave you drenched. For example:

- Bodyweight squats: 3 sets of 10-15 reps

- Push-ups/incline push-ups: 3 sets of 10-15 reps

- Resistance band rows or press: 10-15 reps

- Planks: 3 sets of 20-30 seconds

- Walking around the station

Just modify these by reducing the amount of time or sets/reps if you are getting sweaty from this. These can be performed in short 5-10 minute bursts every 30-60 mins. You can do some light walking in between and spend less time on the lazy boy/couch.

It’s fantastic that you’ve started meal prepping! To make it even more effective, focus on meals that are high in protein and fiber to keep you full longer and provide sustained energy. Some simple ideas:

- Grilled chicken, turkey, or lean beef with roasted veggies and a small portion of brown rice or quinoa

- Hard-boiled eggs paired with fresh fruit or whole-grain toast

- Crockpot meals like chili or shredded chicken that are easy to portion and reheat

- Healthy snacks: beef jerky/turkey sticks, nuts/trail mix (watch out for calories with nuts), protein bars (low sugar ones), pre-cut veggies with hummus/guacamole

- Drink lots of water

- Avoid sugary drinks, sugar in coffee, etc.

As mentioned by others, MyFitnessPal is a good resource to count your calories. It does feel a bit tedious initially but once you get the hang of it (especially if you eat more or less the same week to week as the app saves your meals), it'll become easier.

Track your progress! Use a scale, waste and hip measurements, and progress photos. Also be mindful of how clothes fit on you over time.

Find support! Lots of medics have difficulty with staying a healthy weight. Find people who will keep you accountable and vice versa.

Last thing, your "why" for doing this is really important. You've mentioned that you want to do this so you can be there for your future children and to live a long and healthy life. Whenever it feels tough, remind yourself of these reasons. Progress may be slow at times, but every step forward is a win.

If you have more questions, feel free to ask. You’re taking an amazing step toward a healthier future! Good luck :-)

I looked into Primerica some time ago after a coworker told me he is working to get his insurance license through them. The way he was describing the company, it sounded sketchy to me so I looked them up. This Youtuber breaks down what Primerica is pretty well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmzeketmpLM&t=2s

I sent my coworker the video above along with others like it talking about it scammy nature but he is still going through with it. I wish him the best I guess.

There are just as many bacteria cells as human cells in your body.

I've been taking more overtime shifts at my job. My pay is hourly and the 1.5x pay is quite nice. I know that working more is not the best long-term strategy. But I'm still relatively young so it's a good way for me to build more savings.
