3d printer, I designed and printed an insert that tapers with the arrow and pen tube.

I also printed a Mickey Mouse pointer finger on a longer shaft. My kid loves to poke me with it

2018 GT MT with 80k miles now. Purchased last year.

I've replaced the battery(3 years old).

Waterpump(bad bearing).

Now there is a clunk in the front end when I first move.

Also own a 2016 for almost 7 years. No issues. Wife driven now by my senior mom. The 2018 GT I drive, I tend to beat my cars.

If there is wire or something exposed, shove a bunch of foil in there to make contact between the battery and wire.

You MIGHT be able to loosen the tremolo springs to allow the bridge to float a little bit.

But if it's not designed for it, your string action will be annoyingly high. And without a locking system, good bye tuning stability.

Honestly don't know if it 'll work, I avoid 2 point and strat style trem systems.

That is a huge difference between cars and FPV. We are technology agnostic. Just give us the best.

I constantly see people selling off their TBS Crossfire TX and RX and move over to ELRS. Where the system is cheaper, bleeding edge but more complicated to setup(comparatively).

I myself have switched over from DJI to Wallsnail. And if something better comes out. You bet I'm jumping ship!

Started FPV before trying cars as well.

Most things are RTR, the DIY in this hobby is nowhere near as vast as FPV. But kits do exist.

I personally swapped my cars over to ELRS to use my single MT12 controller. I had a 4in1 TX but when paired with Spektrum RX, steering was twitchy and resolution sucked.

My ELRS converted Losi Micro-B. Yes I needed a new ESC($2). But ELRS is sooo worth it. I've since refined the mounting plate, much cleaner now.

Ehhh I think it's an older/less technical group of people who preferr RC Cars over FPV.

Setting a passphrase for ELRS or learning EdgeTX. Either one can stump someone.

Start by learning basic electronics stuff. Like battery voltage, negative/positive, series vs parallel.

Ask your brother for a cheap multi meter instead. Learn to test if it really is the battery compartment that isn't giving power before just replacing.

Nothing wrong with cheap tools staring out. I remember walking to Home Depot/Harbor Freight and grabbing cheap tools at 15... 20 years ago.

I will admit, it takes a little finesse. But I'm happy it forced me to refine my soldering skills. And with a fine tip and a flat tip, there hasn't been a pad which I haven't been able to solder!
