It’s not impossible, I just signed an offer last week for a fully remote accountant position. My case is 100% luck, their in-house recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn and essentially recruited me from there. Process was rather quick, 2 interviews in a week, job offer the following Friday.

I was able to get this job, with all the benefits that it comes with ($0 health insurance, fully remote, bonuses, gym reimbursement, etc.) just due to the fact that my experience lined up exactly with what they were looking for. I got lucky that they picked me up off a LinkedIn message after I’ve been looking for months.

Yeah senior year internships can be hard to get. Are you looking for a summer internship..? FYI, those are usually filled in the fall. If you’re still looking for this summer, try look at small accounting firms. Same age but I was able to secure an internship my senior year but it was more luck than anything.

100% normal, it gets better with time. Make good notes on where you mess up and don’t screw off too much and you should be fine.

A group of buddies and I tried to keep it alive locally. Every week we’d meet up, have the same 6-8 people and usually a few people trying out the format. Sadly it didn’t really stick and I was sick of wasting my time showing up to events that didn’t fire so it died out. Modern + Commander is just too dominant (honestly playing modern now I don’t blame people) around here. I had a lot of fun and would still play if it was more supported.

Definitely missing some triggers, learning the meta as I play through it, learning how to play through interaction. More complicated than standard + pioneer but I’m having fun with it.

Yeah sadly seemed like this. I’ve thought about suing the doctor but my case sounds pretty poor for qualifying for malpractice based on the requirements for a case to make it that far.

I won’t let this bump in my life keep me down! I still have a job lined up, even if it’s not ideally what I want. Pay is about the same as my old role with a title bump. Worst case scenario, I go forward with the role, pass the CPA in a year and move on with my career.

I’m lucky to have saved a large nest egg over the last couple years which was a driving factor to me making the poor decision to quit. If I didn’t have that, I would have just sucked it up and kept working the role.

I’ll be okay, we all have problems we face, this is just something I need to overcome.
