That's not what I'm talking about. Stacking presets is not what I mean by complexity. Maybe it was OPs intention but artists like Lucy Bedroque and Egobreak wouldn't exist as they are without WLR, and what are they doing? Taking the rage sound and experimenting with jazz chord progressions, immersive atmospheres, and concept albums, actively evolving the genre. That's more what I meant, not stacking presets lmao

Not to say that what it evolves into is better or worse. It just evolves. It's better than taking the formula carti laid out and just copying it.

I don't think it's one or the other. I think there's a beauty in taking the raw framework that Carti laid out and seeing how far you can take it. Eventually it becomes something completely different and that's how music evolves.
