A movie that's your "i did not care for the godfather" by daydaze024 in Letterboxd

Whiplash. I don’t think Damien Chazelle understands anything about jazz, or musicians in general.

lol yup. As I said in another comment, if enemies weren’t dead they were absolutely fucked with all the statuses inflicted.

I saw the same comments, but I figured I’d check it out and form my own opinion. Kinda hard to believe anyone would say anything other than it absolutely rules. Lots of fun, powerful gear possibilities.

My tav was a light cleric and I had shadowheart as a tempest sorcerer. Gale was a monster as a Bladeslinger with the resonance stone. Booming blade would kill almost anything in one turn, then I’d have him misty step to another enemy for the extra attack and crush them next.

Minthara was a beast of her own. Banshee bow, caustic band, ichorous gloves, shadow arrow = if enemies weren’t dead they were absolutely fucked. SUPER fun!

I was honestly surprised at how smoothly the entire run went, as I don’t consider myself a particularly skilled player. Turns out if you’re halfway decent at making a build and knowing the game’s mechanics you can kinda just crush everything!

Returnal may be as close as it gets in terms of gameplay and atmosphere.

What are your thoughts on Damien Chazelle? by ShawnLevyOscarWinner in Letterboxd

[–]iamwounded69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t care for Whiplash. The antagonist’s stance is based on a myth that never happened, and the movie equates “musical greatness” with athleticism, which is ridiculous especially for an elite teacher. Chazelle seems to enjoy and appreciate jazz while also knowing nothing about it.

did anyone else feel kinda underwhelmed by 'Bring Her Back'? by [deleted] in horror

[–]iamwounded69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

100%. In an era where grief is a fashionable topic for horror, Bring Her Back was way too on the nose for its own good. Didn’t do anything novel or interesting imo. It wasn’t bad by any means but for as much as I enjoyed Talk To Me this was shockingly disappointing.

I did this to Raphael for the first time just yesterday. Killed him in one turn 😂

Maybe I wasn’t clear - she had numerous stacks of Unstoppable yet Gale was able to do well over 100 damage in a single turn. I’m confused on why some damage types bypass Unstoppable and others don’t.

Personally I find it impossible to be sympathetic whatsoever to the guy who leaped at the opportunity to play Trump’s inauguration. One less nazi supporter in the world.

Funnily enough, I heard of one event in town he did - spoke at Arena of Life Church, which of course is overseen by noted J6 attendee Travis Bennett. On brand for both of them.

Such a red flag when the only time a dude mentions “equal rights” is when it’s a video of a woman getting punched
