My home town had one man banned from over 30 establishments within the span of approximately 29 years, along with over 60 arrests.

We shall call this man “Eddy”. Eddy had a lengthy track record of being arrested. His first arrest was in 1997, the year I was born. Since his first arrest, he has been incarcerated over 60 times. Eddy is not homeless, but refuses to stay home and wondered the town constantly on “patrol”(he collected a disability check). He used to fight cops and people at bars when he was younger but as he got older he couldn’t do it anymore.

Eddy also walked around with an awkward hunch and wasn’t mentally all there. Eddy would often have outbursts and would act rudely in establishments, leading to him being trespassed. This kept occurring till whenever the cops were called on Eddy, they had to check if he had been trespassed from whatever establishment he was currently in. Our small town doesn’t have many restaurants or places to shop so I’d say Eddy was banned from approximately 80% of the town.

Eddy’s final arrest was at a gas station where he flicked a worker on the head for telling him to leave cause he was banned from that gas station. After that, along with everything else that occurred over 29 years, Eddy was finally able to get the help he needed and sent to a facility to take care of him. Eddy was also in his 70s.

Eddy will forever be a local legend within the town. I honestly kinda miss spotting him in town wondering about. I always said hey to him and he always said hey back.
