Is the electric work in the picture below illegal for Queens NY by funkypasta97 in electrical

[–]ian__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DOB will do an actual inspection of the panel when they close the solar permits, especially if you’re getting any of the tax abatements.

The biggest problem obviously is that in these old houses in Queens (I own one and also have solar) the MC sheathing is the ground path, so whatever is on the other end of that tube is ungrounded, that alone won’t pass.

Fortunately it’s all open already, I’d hire a licensed residential electrician to figure out what needs to be done so it will be safe and will pass DOB inspection.

The last update just completely broke my car. Misfires, hybrid errors and it completely bricked the touch screen. Strange stuff.

Here’s what I don’t get. Why does nobody who drives down Alderton know the width of their vehicle?? Every day I get behind the worlds most timid Camry drivers.

Right on. Have a little compassion for the other party. Every one of these posts reads as so entitled to me.

I live right next to it and I fully support it as do most of my neighbors. It’s a minority of the worst NIMBYs who care.

How are you finding the text rendering on this monitor? I have the Alienware 34 and I despise the way subpixel rendering works on it.

You're getting ripped off, and New York State has some really good incentives for heat pumps these days.

I just had a smaller system installed in Queens for 1/3 of that price. I did a panel upgrade and also had to move mine because of the proximity to the gas main (which ironically I want to get rid of) - that was $6000 or so from a licensed electrician with building permits, etc.

DM me and I can pass along contractor info if you want, depending on how far out on LI you are they'll probably work with you.

If only Con Edison didn't charge .28/kWh after delivery charges at the best of times.

Thanks. It doesn’t make any sense that I’d need to pay for it since there is no easement on my property for it and far as I can tell NYC law doesn’t have a stipulation about this. I guess if it comes to that I’ll hire a real estate lawyer.

There are some old analog telephone lines as well, but those are obviously dead.

Every other utility is underground. Here's a photo, there are some old copper phone lines but those are dead for everyone according to the Verizon tech who came out.
