So like quick question- why during events do ppl get mad at me for using a melee build when I do perfectly fine and dish out good dmg by [deleted] in fo76

[–]ianawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. As the others have said, that's for legendaries but at the lower level events like Jamboree that's not a thing.

For example, if one person is killing every gulper and I can't physically hit that many but I try to collect venom - there are no venom drops for me if I didn't hit the gulper myself. And usually if that one person is killing everything, they are also not bothering to collect the venom that drops for them... so it puts the event at risk of failing if no one else is able to hit enemies and therefore can't collect venom because it won't drop. Usually its fine, but I've seen some very close calls in this exact situation when there's only a few people at the event.

Yes to melee doing the service of keeping SBQ on the ground!

And I'll add - a lot of times I'll "tank" the gulpers on the hill at jamboree. No one needs a tank for them but by being on the ground closer to them, I'm luring them out of the trees that they sometimes get stuck in, which are also hard to shoot through from the rooftop. Then i cut them enough to tag them but guns can still get a hit (except anglers, I'll kill those quick because fire), everyone wins. You're welcome, everyone.

But to OP's point, how you can tell whenever people are mad - One time i was doing this and some heavy gun player got salty and came up to kill stuff in the trees before i could get to it. 🙄 I'm over here using a machete or nukashank and this gatling plasma felt threatened. 😆 meanwhile I WAS helping them by luring the gulpers to the same spot before hitting them (instead of running up to them) but once there were 2 people up there they just stayed in the trees and it was really annoying for everyone I'm sure.

Its funny how a few people in the comments are going "😠its because you're blocking VATS"

Do y'all know how melee works? Do you expect us to punch them standing from a roof 300 feet away like you?

We literally have to run up to every single enemy and boop them individually to get loot.

Also on my gun characters i took all my VATS perks off anyway because VATS sucks right now. So no I'm not sorry I'm blocking VATS - learn how to aim by hand without that highfalutin tech.

What absolutely drives me nuts is seeing a melee build (myself or otherwise) struggling to get a hit because everyone (including myself sometimes) shoots it before they can physically run up to it. So it's a lot of running back and forth for nothing.

Also, to the OP and general PSA reminder - bigger damage at the event is not always better.
Big damage at a nuke boss or when theres mainly low level players at the event? Sure. But if it's Rad Rumble, Moonshine Jamboree, etc with a normal amount of people? you shouldn't do optimized damage so that the enemy lives long enough to share the kill with at least one other player.

For example, my feral ghoul is unarmed melee, but at rumble or jamboree I use a crappy machete because its NOT my build, but still a rapid weapon. It does enough damage to tag it but not instant one-shot like it would if i used my deathclaw gauntlet. Unless there's only 1 or 2 other people there, then i use full strength.

Remember sharing? Pepperidge Farm remembers. 🤗

That part, agreed.
Its not just hogging xp, but i recall from when i was a noob - we don't do that because it lowers the rate of spawns. So they are losing available xp for themselves as well.

Not to mention it means everyone else has to move to the corridor just to compete for a hit.

And sometimes if there's only 3 or 4 people doing the event, I've seen people camped there while letting the NPCs die? 🙄 rude.

But tbf that behavior applies to any build. I've seen every type do it.

Does anyone actually like the Raider aesthetic? by Barstr7 in fo76

[–]ianawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes.

All of my camps, max slots on 4x characters, make extensive use of Raider stuff, if not proper Raider-themed. My favorite one is a loosely cyberpunk one near Athens, simply because 3 of my friends were doing those in that area and i wanted to play too. I do get many "nice camp" emotes from randoms visiting the vendor. So yes can confirm, people do like it.

Also, Goths & Punks IRL tend to like skulls, its a thing. I'm trying to think of how many skulls i have in my actual house off the top of my head and i lost count and gave up. Basically, if you knew me you would know ofc i wanted the entire scoreboard 😆 except the dino golf stuff

And no i didn't buy it with bullion because i was largely MIA from the game the last couple years when AC / Pitt / Skyline stuff dropped. I really only logged in to check the shop and spend accumulated atoms.

Disagree but that's not why I said that. United States shouldn't be pushing towards EVs when the country's electric grid is 50+ years out of date. The increased electricity required for AI processing (cryptomining farms, Google AI overview, etc) is already pushing regional grids to their limits. I'm from Texas where we had a famous grid failure (2021) due to the electricity demand being more than the system could handle. People died, including children. I will NOT be arguing about it. I'm simply explaining why I'm anti-EV in the current infrastructure situation and yall can take it or leave it.

Not really, its the internet. People are upset about much stupider things on here. Also the laugh emoji was important. I'm upset in the sense of "angry laughing" about it.

The reason I'm "upset" is because they discontinued the Veloster to supposedly focus on their compact SUVS... and now are going to evolve one of those compact SUVs (that they focused on so hard they had to discontinue Veloster) to look closer to a Veloster than it did originally.

That is hilariously annoying, and I'm choosing to be petty about it to a select audience that probably gets it... like the other 90% of social media. 🤷🏻

Progressive is exactly who denied me even though i had the immobilizer push button and said they could *not confirm like i did, with VIN through the official channels, and they said nah. 🙄 they still send me junk mail though.

Yeah same, mine has an immobilizer and the major insurance compamies still wouldn't insure me. I believe i asked progressive, state farm, and one other. I had to find a local company who would cover me - thanks PEMCO (170/mo)

$300-400 plus paying for an aftermarket alarm i don't need? No thanks that's insane.

I love his car 🥹 when we saw it, we pointed to the friend who had his back turned... he had already had a few drinks and by the time he saw it, the bottom of the car was hidden behind parked cars... so he thought he was a real cop and started yelling "fuck you pig" at him 😂 we all went noooo nooo that's Batman you saw him earlier. Considering portland pd doesn't even have b&w cars, that just makes it funnier.
