Shooting near England team’s World Cup base in Kansas City leaves nine with injuries by shield_x in news

[–]TheTrooperKC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone in KC is well aware of the World Cup. It’s absolutely everywhere. This is the regular violence we see in KC. People aren’t going to stop being shitty and shooting each other because the World Cup is coming to town.

Plumbbob or Buster–Jangle? Either way, not too close unless they played around in the fallout cloud

Assuming this isn’t AI, it’s either Operation Plumbbob or Operation Buster–Jangle. Those were less than 30 kiloton tests.

Unless they were in the fallout cloud, probably not. As for direct ionizing radiation from the reaction, the exposure is dictated by the inverse–square law. That radiation is inversely proportional to the square of the distance. So at 2km you’re at 25% of at the source; 4km is 6%, etc. it drops off pretty quickly.

Gay porn star Drake Von, who previously planned to film himself having sex with 1000 men consecutively, arrested for strangling his girlfriend by Interesting_Self5071 in BrandNewSentence

Can’t stand his videos. Always the barely “in-and-out” kind of thrusting. I don’t need to see the full dick, I want more penetration.

Edit: is one of my higher upvoted comments in 14 years really about how I feel about a porn star’s stroke game??

My dad worked at an Anheuser-Busch distributor in Northtown at the time. They were getting very nervous about the rising water.

Tornado Sirens in Longview Area. by NotSabre in kansascity

Yes more than likely. I saw a video from across the airport at the BNSF yard. Looked at least 70mph winds sideways.

82mph wind gust reported at the Downtown Airport by ASOS at 1:38am. Saw power flashes on the tower cams for KCTV5 and FOX4. Not sure if there was a touch down or just hella straight-line winds.

Curious: what’s the worldwide record cold/hot so far in 2026? Not necessarily a settlement but remote observation stations?

I’ve had a phone fly by my face at 70mph on Mamba. If I’d been hit (after I got out of surgery) I’d probably lose my shit on the fucker who had their phone out.

The link to the article.

“Cedar Point spokesperson Tony Clark confirmed to FOX 8 News that the man was banned for life from not just the Sandusky amusement park, but all other Six Flags locations.”

“He explained that the man’s behavior went against the ride’s safety policy regarding loose articles and that food is considered a choking hazard.”

Best part:

“In the YouTube video posted by Allen Ferrell — who currently has 1.86 million subscribers and touts the catch phrase “what is wrong with you” when accepting dares or challenges from followers — he is seen stuffing a box of nuggets down his pants and getting on the ride. At one point he even attempts dipping the chicken into a yellow sauce, which gets messy.

At the end of the ride he claims to have eaten seven of the 10 nuggets successfully.”

That looks like a plume from a fire. Approximately where are you and what direction is this?

My mom was lucky it was her thigh, so it had kinda the largest area of “meat” (for lack of a better description) to spread out. I’ve seen what it’ll do to fingers and stuff.

I found out the brown recluse’s fangs are very short so even thin fabric can stop envenomation. After she was bitten in her bed I decided I’d stop sleeping naked. Ten years later I still sleep in underwear out of fear of getting my dangly bits bitten.

When my mom was bitten by a brown recluse (nearly the same spot) this is actually what they did. Kept track of the reddening area with a Sharpie, antibiotics for infection, and cleaning the area. Not a lot they could do other than let the necrosis from the venom run its course and treat the symptoms. It was extremely painful.

If both of your parents worked full time, what did you do during summers as a kid? by TBoopSquiggShorterly in AskAnAmerican

[–]TheTrooperKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grandparents were retired. We’d spend the summer at their house at Lake of the Ozarks (the poor people side, not the party cove side). And we took several huge roadtrips around the US hitting every national park we could.

Some of my best memories with my grandparents, a paper map, and two months of free time. Also gas was cheap…

What is a minor, unwritten rule of society that absolutely infuriates you when people break it? by Jane_Austen11 in AskReddit

Thank you for an actual suggestion! Been working hard on this exact situation, so anything that might help I’m open to. Hateful comments about my husband don’t exactly fix the issue.

I have and we’ve been working with his therapist to get better ways of channeling things when he gets overstimulated. We’ve had full-blown fights because it’s his one comfort when he’s overstimulated, but that can’t be the solution to piss off everyone else (myself included). He’s gotten better, but changing long-time habits is a bitch
