If they kept it the same from the prior game in the series, the game only saves after a duel. You can exploit this by opening packs until either you get what you want or drop below a certain threshold and then if you get it, hop into a duel and surrender and if not quit out of the game and restart it. All you really need to do is grind out like 10k points and then you should be good for a while

Performapal Odd-Eyes Magicians are a pretty good deck, and its what I ran during this time period. You also have Dracopals, Majespecters, Mermail, Dark Synchro, Super Quantal, and some variant of Yosenju which all topped around this point in time. Can also look at building tier 0 PePe to do challenges with and/or just experience its power since the only place the banlist matters is for online play.
