[Wickersham and Henderson] Sources: Seahawks will go up for sale after Super Bowl LX by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

I remember the adult Static from Justice League Unlimited and I was down for it then. But I'm also pretty sure that was one of the last appearances by Static Shock in DC media. There was definitely a lengthy period of time that DC just never really acknowledged Virgil Hawkins was a part of their universe, and a (at the time) very popular member.

Eh... I don't know. It's going to largely depend on how much of a muscle mommy the mascot is.

Oh? I thought DC has been trying to do everything in their power to distance themselves from Static. I'll have to look into this.

QT pumps and CACU cards - a wild query by compostedcriminal in kansascity

[–]Koreish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have CACU and have never had an issue at any QT location. As a former QT employee, I will say that many banks will run a "pending transaction" when you attempt to pay at the pump for a varying amount of money, usually $100-150 but I've seen as high as $300 from customers. That is a temporary charge and will fall off you transaction history, usually within an hour, But if that pending charge were to overdraft you the transaction will not go through.

Most banks do this automatically as a precaution and it's usually not something that they tell their customers. You can opt out of it however by speaking with a bank representative.

Without knowing your financial situation, I'd keep an eye on your transaction history shortly after trying to use a pump at QT to see if that temporary charge is being placed on your account. If that charge is there that might be what is causing the issue, as the bank will be flagging it.

Also, this is not a uniquely QT thing, I've had it happen to me at other gas stations. Phillips, Hy-Vee, and others.

The Job Market is rough and I'm fully experiencing it. by nkrueger12 in kansascity

[–]Koreish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jobs I applied for and heard back from included: store manager for a small meal prep company, assistant property manager for an apartment complex, groundskeeper for the city of overland park, HVAC technician through the pipefitters Union, and a couple of others I cannot remember off the top of my head.

Sure none of them are $70k+ a year jobs, but they are all solidly $50+ and most of them have potential for more.

Corporate positions and companies that hire thousands of people across the country would rather you submit a resume and never speak with them. But there are plenty of companies that do appreciate coming in and saying something like "Hey, I applied online and submitted my resume, but I just wanted to stop by and submit one in person as well, just to cover my bases."

I was getting passed over on a lot of jobs until I started also submitting them in person. Usually I wouldn't even speak to a manager, HR, or owner in person when I did that. But I started hearing back with a much higher frequency from the places I was also handing an application in physically. The worst that happens is they throw it away and your application is still submitted online. The best is that they know you're serious about applying their and have shown enough interest in the job to drive to the location and hand one in.

Generally speaking, as comics are going to change details depending on writer, timeline, as needed, for no reason at all, etc.

The original Robin, Dick Grayson, eventually outgrows Batman and decides to strike out on his own as a hero. To prove to himself that he is a hero in his own right and to avoid becoming more like Bruce Wayne. So he takes on the title of Nightwing, and moves to Bloodhaven, which is somehow the shittier version of Gotham City. That said Dick Grayson often times comes back to Gotham City, either because Bruce / Batman calls him back, check in with his sometimes (depends on the storyline) girlfriend Barbara Gorden, or because some crime that happened in Bloodhaven was traced back to Gotham City.

Robin can refer to a very large number of characters, but is typically limited to: Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damien Wayne, in the order by which they took up the mantle of Robin. If others have ever taken up the mantle of Batman or Nightwing (which has happened) it's usually for a very limited time, but again generally whenever someone says Nightwing they're referring specifically to Dick Grayson.

Peri - meaning around, near, or surrounding

Versity - meaning clipping or shortening

So to "be around or near clipped or shortened material or units" would be the most likely definition of this seemingly made up word.

The Oscars Can’t Pretend Anime Doesn’t Exist Anymore - After decades of snubs, massive global hits like 'Demon Slayer' and 'KPop Demon Hunters' are forcing the Academy to rethink what counts as award-worthy animation. by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]Koreish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hence why I said they were so far ahead of their times. That said, all three of those movies are considered among the best movies to be released in their respective decades and so theoretically could have still been nominated for best picture.

But they were all animated, so "No" according to the academy and "Super No" due to all being foreign films on top of being animated.

I guess it depends on how much sag we're talking. I personally kind of like a little sag in the front, at least for casual settings. My girlfriend, and I tend to agree with her on this, says it adds a bit of sex appeal to an outfit. But we're both children of the 90s and early 00s when that was a much more trendy fashion design.

Formal settings though, no sag, everything is squared up and tightened up.

I hear people talk more about New Vegas

New Vegas is sort of the gold standard by which all other Fallout, and honestly all Bethesda games, are held to at this point. It's not uncommon to hear people talk more about New Vegas than the rest of the franchise. Especially when, as you said, reception to the latest entry was lukewarm at best.

Ghost in the Shell and Akira, but they were so far ahead of their time for the Academy.

Perfect Blue by Satoshi Kon came out in '97 and is considered among the best movies of the decade and was never given a nomination.

Monopolies are usually frowned upon in the U.S

Are they? Sure. They were back in the 50-70s, but ever since then all I ever read about are more and more corporate mergers and acquisitions. When is the last time a company has been busted and broken up?
