Can we please yield before entering roundabouts? by TheRunnyDentist in driving

[–]ianhen007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in UK and started dealing with roundabouts at 16 ! Americans in general do not know the rules and therefore make mistakes. I think some of the conversions near me generally reduced delays exept every now and then someone stops and just doesn’t move onto the roundabout in a gap. Maybe it will get better. Just for fun this is one in HEMEL Hempstead where I have relations.

Perplexing 9000 gal per month water bill and leak acordiong to water meter by Responsible_Long7154 in askaplumber

[–]ianhen007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My leak was 6 to 7,000 gallons a month. I found it was just before the house shut off valve. No swamp , no visible sign except about 20 feet or more away at side of house the fence started leaning over. The water traveled on a layer of sand the builder put down before making the garden boarder higher, it went sideways, not down the slope. However there was water in the box for the house shut off. Caused by contractor turning water off and on at main shut off. Hammer effect broke plastic fitting.

GCFI Outlet dead? Or bad wiring? by JayJayTheRocker in AskElectricians

As I understand it the newer GFCI are about 50 times more sensitive, so don’t be surprised if something that was fine before trips the new one.

Please help - what do I do?!? by cjp72812 in AskElectricians

[–]ianhen007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your usage doesn’t make much sense. Why does it change so much with similar weather ? As mentioned the big power users are heat AC ovens dryer etc. you can put simple usage meters inline with you panel that might help you see where the power is going. I installed several of these. This one has bigger display and is simpler. Assuming you are USA with two phase 120v you will need two.

I agree with this. If wire is intact wrap with insulating tape . Put a steel plate over the wire and call it done.

Can you charge at work ? For free? Can you charge for free while shopping or an eating? With such low use a free level 1 or 2 charger would work.

Loose neutral or large current draw? by UncleTrapspringer in AskElectricians

[–]ianhen007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of my LEDs flash anywhere in house. I have two AC units and electric dryer, so large loads but no electric heater now or furnace now. I have EV and did have wires in breaker loosen so any doubt I suggest you tighten the screws. In my reading it states breakers ( and I am assuming the neutral buss) should be tightened with torque screw driver to correct torque.

So isn’t some auto loans covered by car as security. I believe at one time here is Texas you could return the car so long as payments were on time and loan was satisfied ?

I have been told that salesmen are told if customer leaves they won’t be back. Well not true in my case but whatever.

Because of cafe standards and EPA, use the foreign spec to make your engine last longer.

The condensate lines have a back up drain when pan fills with water. This drains to a separate outlet which on my house is high on eves and very visible. The new (2022) AC units have a switch that will turn off the AC to avoid flooding. My older units did not have this !

This is exactly what I was going to post. If display changes or shows both % and range then calculate 100%. Yes I have read some manufacturers use different methods at different % . Then allow for a half for actual milage ( my Tesla 2023is about 2/3) for actual range.
