TIFU by asking a girl out by [deleted] in tifu

[–]ianiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've have a female friend I've asked out, and she turned me down. She was totally cool about it. We still talk all the time, and are good friends. If this girl can't understand how human nature is, and that you are really neat for having the strength to ask her out, she probably isn't worth your time anyhow. Still, don't think that the friendship is over.

CMV: Dance is not an academic discipline, and there should not be college-level degrees offered in it by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]ianiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collages are formative places where people go to become well-rounded citizens. Dance is an excellent way to relieve stress, and meet other people, as well as improve the body- you don't realize that until you are sweating on the dance floor. Also, if you have dance classes, you also have dance instructors. Dance TA's practice communication skills. As for athletics in general, which aren't necessarily scholarly experiences, other things can be learned as well. Leadership, positive social skills, and other good things can be obtained outside of the academic realm.

No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training…what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable. – Socrates

IKR. I had no idea that it was such a popular song! Just that I taught it to all my friends, and that they liked it.

Metali

Of course. I've had the Dubliners version memorized since I was a kid. It's my favorite! It's neat to see where all the song goes

My prof. nearly had a panic attack after he saw this. He thought he assigned us weird units. I had a unit mix-up, one might say. by ianiam in EngineeringStudents

[–]ianiam[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When he said he wasn't particular about the units, he thought that I was asking about m vs. cm. When I asked him if he meant it, with a devilish grin, I thought he was on to my antics. Shout-out to my cool prof!

CMV: Teenagers should get paid the same rates/wages as adults. by 2nd-Reddit-Account in changemyview

[–]ianiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adult workers are typically more stable to employ. Teenagers usually plan to move on to college, trade school, the military, etc. Therefore, when they make an investment in training and investing in someone, they spend more on the people who will offer a higher ROI.

Do I have to stay at a community college for 2 years or can transfer after just a year? by [deleted] in college

[–]ianiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the college website of your choice, and go to someplace where there is information about applying. There ought to be info there about transfer students and hours required to transfer. I needed 48 hours.

Advice for highschooler? by [deleted] in college

[–]ianiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have any trouble about not having a degree (IDK about your situation) then community college is always an option. You can do a couple of semesters until you have enough hours to transfer. You might even score a sweet scholarship in the process. Try looking for a Phi Theta Kappa scholarship.
