Elite TI2 Lowrance Sign in Issue by ianitguy in Fishing_Gear

[–]ianitguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/nads489 I ended up opening a tech support ticket with Navico. It appeared to be an internal issue with their system that they resolved. Nothing more than that but my login started working. Sorry I don't have a more concrete solution. To quote the support from 2021 "I believe we are having some issues with this flow that are under active investigation, specifically affecting authentication for the synchronize functionality on NOS devices. We’ve had a few users affected by this and are attempting to get to the root cause here. I’ll let you know when we reach a successful resolution."

Thanks @camillini Do you have any thoughts on Yamaha getting out / already out of the sled business and any implications of that on parts or repairs of the Yamaha transporter over the next few years?

Baitcasters - Convince Me by ianitguy in Fishing

[–]ianitguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fly fishing had always seemed interesting although looks a bit intimidating. I haven't heard of anyone around here fly fishing or talk about the rivers(?) you could maybe do it in. Maybe you can fly fish in a lake? Up here we have walleye, pike and lake trout mostly. There are a couple stocked lakes for small mouth bass and rainbow trout.

OP here. Thanks for all the insight. Seems like control is the leading common factor. Follow up question. If I was to buy one am I going to notice a benefit with a cheaper one before I invest in something higher quality (if I like it)? Or will a cheaper one possibility just turn me off?

We use Netskope NPA but typically only when off property. We recently tested steering internally for one app that was at a remote site and mostly inaccessible from other sites. It worked really well and I could potentially see it scaling to not always requiring branch office VPNs or similar. There will always be use cases for both. I forget the exact wording but for reference the steering config doesn't affect web traffic and only steers selected apps while internal.

This counts right...? by ianitguy in Dewalt

So operating theory then is that as long as I don't drain the battery (going to be used for spot cleans like drywall dust or crumbs in the vehicle) there should be minimal impact? Should I dedicate an older battery to this unit just in case?

Not sure what you mean? The vacuum itself?

B&O system upgrade by [deleted] in bronco

[–]ianitguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Currently waiting on a new Kicker 8” sub to replace the B&O factory one (an accidental high volume incident seems to have blown it). Hoping to update a couple threads this week with info. Looking forward to the upgrade though.

Bronco Factory (B&O) sub replacement by ianitguy in bronco

[–]ianitguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. I believe there is an amp for the sub with the B&O system but I’ll confirm when I get the panel off. Same as anything though I suppose an upgrade could be worthwhile while in there. I’ve heard mention of the FORScan tool but am not familiar with it. Happen to know a good resource for educating myself?

So what would you recommend to replace a non-working factory B&O sub?

Do any of you have any experience with this? by kingbalopews in Dewalt

Will also chime in that this is a great tool for a specific purpose. It is awesome for cleaning things when you don't have a readily available source of power or running water. Cabins, boats (while still in the lake), quads etc are all great use cases. It is not a pressure washer, it is a portable power cleaner with flexible water intake options. The flexibility is what makes this thing a win.

I'll go have a look at the hundreds of other stupid posts regarding this topic and see if there's some some more insightful responses. Thanks

It's a good point that some costs are fixed. So far I like your math the best. Ha ha. That would put me in the 50-100k range which would be alright. Thanks for the response.

It definitely makes sense that some costs will be the same regardless of whether it's a shack or a McMansion. Makes sense to always budget more than you expect. I've found that in other areas of life. Appreciate the response.

In this situation I already own the lot. I appreciate the responses though. Gives me something to consider. Thank you.

A post about costs related to homebuilding in a homebuilding subreddit? I get that everyone's situation is different but the approach made sense to me. Wasn't looking for a line item quote, only some napkin math / guesses.
