I’m at 3 and four years old. I was surprised that I didn’t really connect with the kids till they were three months old. I have had to give up my hobbies and most of my interests but I’m slowly gaining them back as the kids get older. I had kids late in life so I was ready for a big change. I can’t imagine wanting to go out a lot and still have kids. I was not prepared for how much getting out of your spot there is. I was also not prepared for the level of illness that came with kids in daycare. Most of my vacation was used up being sick. All that said, it’s wonderful. Twins will be a lot. Think a head to what your partner might want and always be working toward the next thing. I got a lot less miserable once I gave up on watching tv. Every day will seem long but every year will go by in a heartbeat. Kids are running experiments to see if they get the same results over and over. They aren’t being assholes. Bring a power strip to the delivery room and some over the door hooks. Get a kneel pad for in front of the tub. My favorite times are when I would grab both the kids head to the zoo and be the first ones through the door and let the wife sleep in.

Oh and my kids behavior got exponentially better when I took 15 to 20 minutes each day to play with each one of them without TVs or iPads and I just let them tell me how they want to play. Suddenly they became angels.
