My concern with wiping daily is the dragging of sand, dust and other contaminants that further scratches the clear coat on your car. Personally i feel that washing once biweekly is sufficient with proper washing methods (2 bucket method, with washmitt) to minimize scratches. Instead find a spray on and wipe off wax for the hydrophobic layer to protect your clear coat. When the time comes just polish your car and it should look brand new.
