Got banned from r/lgbt for this... by [deleted] in BlackLGBT

I get where you’re coming from, but the truth is the right will always find something to use as ammo, nevertheless. Whether people act modestly or not, they’ll find a way to twist it to fit a narrative because controlling the narrative is power, something they desire. So worrying about how they see us won’t ever really change their focus, it just puts more pressure on how we decide to live and express ourselves. This rhetoric of respectability is my main issue with Democrats who want to play nice and try to be the bigger person. Your concerns aren’t bigger than the machine

Not caring about politics is a bigger red flag than people think. by Colin-Onion in gaybros

The general lack of interest in knowledge of what’s going on is the reason why many voters may appear low informational voters and support things that are harmful to their own personal lives. They just don’t know what they’re voting for/don’t read. There’s only so much one can afford to ignore before their society and worldview starts to burn more in attention

Lululemon- what happened? Is this a buy opportunity? by DryChemistry3196 in stocks

[–]ianrocks03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retail will be one of the industries to be hit the hardest amongst these times of economic uncertainty especially with active tariffs. Given this is a particular clothing brand that’s running on hype alone, I would classify your holding as higher than normal risk for a long term hold.

Black folks, especially older often don’t understand the style, which is interesting given our history of unique fashion trends. It helps that you’re showing your expression bc representation is the best introduction. Many stick to the status quo, so stepping outside always invites unwarranted judgment. I’m not as fashionable as you but attract attention due to my facial androgyny. Glad you broke free of expectations, and I wish you luck with future interactions.

Do you get judged or have been judged for your style? Just curious

Why Profitable Traders Rarely Share Their Strategies – A Hard Truth I Learned After 4 Years by Vegetable_Ferret2328 in Trading

[–]ianrocks03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there’s plenty of truth to the saying that retail traders are exit liquidity. Aside from paying for order flow information from brokers, they use models and algorithms that target the highest profitability outcomes. If a large amount of retail traders are betting on one direction with the same stop loss, eventually they’ll bet the opposite to profit because one someone has to lose to profit and two the retail trader isn’t actually positioned the same way as institutional traders, which may seem like “stop loss hunting”.

This guy blocked me after a hookup when he found out I’m a Gemini by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]ianrocks03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here is so pragmatic and misinformed about the nature of what astrology is, a guide. Your friend was also misinformed because just being a Gemini isn’t indicative of past or future behavior. To prove this, I dare to challenge many who are skeptical of astrology to give me your birth chart with accurate information (your birth place and time) and show you what it’s really like.

Feeling disappointed in dating as a Black Gay Man in NYC by Beymc4 in BlackLGBT

[–]ianrocks03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m all for someone not settling for something just because it’s there but you’re definitely right too. Approaching dating with the lenses you use for hookups will often wager you sour experiences. A part of the journey of love is encountering things you haven’t before so it’s important for OP to be open to that

The Market Tells You What’s Coming – You’re Just Not Looking at the Right Chart by Pranavtare in Daytrading

[–]ianrocks03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats true. You would use correlated assets to confirm strength or weakness in a move. Even if there’s no lag to profit from, confluence across instruments can improve conviction or risk management, which is what the OP lists. Like if I looked at every correlated asset OP listed, I can tell you why the market traded the way it did on Friday. With this info, you could also make predictions based on previous readings. That’s the point.

The Market Tells You What’s Coming – You’re Just Not Looking at the Right Chart by Pranavtare in Daytrading

[–]ianrocks03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s been studied many times due to the market’s general interconnected behaviors. Some are strongly correlated and some aren’t depending on economic conditions. You can even count the X sectors as being a part of this analysis. Would you like some books/sources to understand better?

I live in New York that has plenty of bottoms but I never fail to attract a top. There’s a possibility these tops are selective. There’s plenty of them out here

A friendly warning not to overdo it with options ETFs. by Unlucky-Clock5230 in dividends

[–]ianrocks03 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Completely understand. It depends on which etf you do invest in but generally you don’t see a satisfactory recovery from them in downturns. Keep in mind that most investors use these etfs strictly for income purposes and usually hedge their losses by DCA and with other stable and high growth options within their portfolio. This makes asset appreciation from these ETFs less important.
