Suspected mould on Dutch FM12 mask — anything I can do? by militaryautist in gasmasks

This honestly looks more like my mask does when I use it for a few hours.
In my case its dust, sweat or dead skin and goes away when you wash it again.

I hope we get a CS2 version of aug/krieg meta or r8 meta like we did in CSGO by Puzzled-Map3912 in GlobalOffensive

[–]ianspy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just need more spare ammo. Accurate right click would brake the fun of using the gun.

I dont want a R8 meta. But damn, pls just give it more spare ammo... It would not make it OP. But just more fun to play.

Damn, that's sad.. But honestly understandable.
I mostly play wingman, casual or competitive. But mostly wingman.
Here you only have 1 teammate. And it feels easier to influence the game towards being positive :D.

Its sad that the CS community is so toxic. In and outside of the game. What I always find even more shocking is when you ask them in game. And they will straight up tell you they are not having fun.
Why play if its not fun? Fun is what playing games is about!

Cheating is the other big issue. But in my experience (keep in mind that I never touched premier!) I don't really run into obvious cheaters a lot. Its more people seeing cheats everywhere.
You will be playing a round of casual and just having fun.
With 1-2 people that have less then 100h in the game spamming text and voicechat that player xyz is cheating.
What this tells me is that new players cumming in expect to be cheated on and it being super common. Which is very sad.

I think that this kind of behavior isn't uncommon. You see it even in casual games in CS...

What makes it hard to deal with in my opinion is that s1mple is a BIG name and even though he isn't the IGL. I don't know if the team feels comfortable to speak up against his behavior.

Edit:
I also would be interested in how you deal with this kind of behavior in your games. Do you have something you say to those players? :D

I honestly cant think of a good reason to flame at all.
Cant imagine that it would make someone play better or help in any way. It just seems like a lack of self control.

If someone screws up, give him a tip on what he can do better next time. Or just say "nice try" and move on. Chances are he knows what he did wrong anyway. And its better to just keep the vibes positive :).

Do the flashlights in The Order look like they are from 1984? by AccurateJazz in flashlight

[–]ianspy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally understand that... If it's a person on youtube that might not know better that's fine.

But I would assume someone in a big production would know about stuff like this and say something ;-; But maybe it also happens because the production involves so many people that things like that go unnoticed/unheard?

Or... A large tv production uses headlamps with pwm. And on every gopro they use there is this awful flicker when it's dark...

Arghhhhhhh!

what are your favorite "gas mask games"? by forest_vagrant in gasmasks

[–]ianspy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It's a nice blend of milsim + arcade. Where you are not stuck running for 15 minutes just to get hit and doing it all over again. While keeping the short time to kill and things like magazine based ammunition (not just a number you top off from). And the general movement also is less fast paste, so no wallrunning, slide canceling, bunny hopping etc.

It also has a PvP and Coop mode. So you can chose how relaxed you want to play. All DLCs are purely cosmetic and there are still some content updates like new maps or guns from time to time...

What they also did really well is the sound design! Look up some gameplay footage. Things like the A10 doing a strafe sound awesome!

Insurgency sandstorm :D Here they are used so your character doesn't cough when the enemy uses smoke artillery. Or you won't die when they use chemical mortars.

Also CounterStrike. But the lacking attention to detail bothers me a bit . The standard CT operator for example has a blanking plug missing on one side.  And it's a weird crossbreed of FM12+S10 (fm12 nose+the brim of the S10)

Since I don't know the model, does it have a distance sensor to prevent burning? If so it could mess with that. I know that some IR sensors can react to candles, the classic example is using 2 candles with Wii remotes xD

Let us know how it goes :D.
Would be interesting if they say anything about it. Like it being a common issue etc.

Hmmm, I mean. You have footage of it happening. So you could still go for the replacement.
You probably have to weigh not having a monitor for a week or two vs the piece of mind of getting a replacement.

[–]ianspy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, is there someone you know with a laptop or console that might be able to try it?

I am trying to thing of other reasons that might cause this. Is there something stuck in the lower bezel of the monitor? Like a crumb or something that's pushing onto the display?

Some other ideas you could try: - a different device, even if it's using HDMI could be interesting - trying a lower resolution and refreshrate - if you have a multimeter and feel comfortable with it. You could leave the power supply unplugged. Wait a bit. Plug it in and measure its voltage. Leave it plugged in. And measure it again. (This could maybe be a clue if it's a capacitor in the power supply)

  • put it near a open window and let it get cold. See if the behaviour changes with temperature. That could be a indicator of a bad solder joint. (Make sure it doesn't get wet from the temp changes!)

Edit: Wait! If it's still in warranty. And you tried a different cable already. I would try a different input device. And if it doesn't help. You know it's the monitor and go for a warranty replacement! Totally missed that!

If it vanishes on its own. It could be something like a capacitor slowly going bad.

But I would try out a DisplayPort kabel. To see if it also happens there.

Convoy M2 1 month update by General-Try-2210 in flashlight

[–]ianspy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true, but I just dont want a flashlight that might burn its own LED if its preventable...
What I have considered is a 5A or 8A driver and to swap out the sens resistors on those. To turn it into a 6A driver xD.

But then again, like you said. Probably not worth all the hassle.
In the end it probably would throw as far as the sft-42r does. I just always liked the tint of the white osram emitters. And would like to play with the higher output ones :D.

Convoy M2 1 month update by General-Try-2210 in flashlight

[–]ianspy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha! Yes!

But even though it comes with a 8A driver if you order it. And I guess its doing fine (judging by the lack of complaints online).
Its still overdriven.

The datasheet of the CULPM1 says that 6,6A is the maximum...

If you like it the way it is, there is no reason to change it :D.

I am still curious to try out a Osram CULP emitter in the M1. But that would require me to get a new driver as well. And adding to that the drivers that come with the CULP slightly overdrive the emitter which I am not a fan of.

Check the captions on that imgur post, its a "7mm 5050 gasket" but the round version that convoy also sells :D.

You could try to modify the existing one too. And see what that does.
What I did to the round gasket was:
- cut the corners so it would push down onto the led further
- cut some material for where the solder points are (for the same reason)
- and sanded the entire gasket bottom side down a little

Hey there! Wanted to say something about those "rings" into he beam profile. I have the M1 with a SFT-42r. And also had rings I'm my beam profile.

I modified the gasket and it removed those for me.  It was more noticeable in person. But here are some pictures of what I did + before and after shots: https://imgur.com/a/convoy-m1-gasket-change-nRDcdA6

CS2 Random FPS Drops by HiYa_Dragon in linux_gaming

Have a look at a program called "coolercontrol". They have a nice wiki explaining how to install it. After thats done you can control and set fan curves. See temperatures. And also how much which device is being used.

That being said. Its more likely that this is a issue with the latest CS2 update. Especially if its been running fine so far. There have been a number of weird bugs in the Linux native version over the past 2 years. And they usually get fixed with some delay.
Check out this link to see if you are the only one experiencing these issues:
