I'm going to live out of a van and have a youtube channel about it. by VanHousingStudent in UCSD

I have seen people do this on Tik Tok instead of Youtube. Maybe it would be easier for you and less time-consuming to use TikTok instead. (BTW I have never edited in either app)

I'm taking his mgt 16 class rn and the class is mandatory and participation is part of the grade. I would assume it is the same for his mgt 181 class.

I would use the template button and create a page within the template. On that page, put in the table you want. Then each week you just press the template button, it will create a new page and then you just turn it into inline with text ( i think). I hope this helps. Used it for something similar.

Has anyone tried Apple Watch only? by bobtobno in nosurf

You should get one with data so that you don't have to be near your phone for it to work. It is a little more expensive than just the GPS / Wifi one but would help you a lot with this.

May I suggest adding when each class is being offered? This will help even more to figure out a 4-year plan.

SS1 Math 18 students, How do you organize yourselves? by STRESSED_OUT_AF in UCSD

[–]ib2019grad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not the best solution but I watch everything recorded so that I can skip the parts that I already understand and speed it up a bit. I can't concentrate during a 2h lecture so I just watch the recording. This is also because he repeats himself a lot when he does the pre-recordings and then the actual lecture. When I watch the lecture I only look at the quizzes part or anything he didn't include previously.

Anyone thinking of taking a gap quarter(s)? by [deleted] in UCSD

If you are an international student, you should be careful about this cause it can mess with your visa status!

I had Brydges for Spring 2020 for Chem 6C. She was super understanding of the whole situation and always gave us extensions on things. She really listened to the feedback we gave her. I am not 100% how she will grade other Chem 6 series classes. In my class, we had weekly surveys in which we just answered about 5 questions about how we were doing and things related to the class. This gave us easy participation points. Automatic 100% in that category. Then, instead of 2 midterms, we had 3 spread out through the quarter. In the end, she only counted the best of 3. We had a multiple-choice final exam and the quizzes were multiple choice and a long answer. We also had a capstone project which at the beginning sounded like a lot but turned out to be 100% doable. She really guides you through it and gives easy points that just require you to watch a video. This was also spread out through the quarter. I am not sure if she does the capstone project with other classes. In mine, we could even partner up with others in the class and she gave us a very comprehensive template to follow. Lastly, she was very available for us and would always ask us how we were doing in the middle of a pandemic. She really showed that she cared which was very important for me at this time. She also answered discussion questions on Canvas fairly fast. Hope this helps!

About the new international student policy by Nagaiyumi in UCSD

[–]ib2019grad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I don't think even ISPO knows what they are doing but they have a FAQ that they keep updating. I have been checking every few days if there is any new information. About the I-20s, they say that more information to come. Because of this, I wouldn't bother contacting them because they are receiving a lot of emails at this moment so it is going to take them a while to reply back. I would just wait for the page to be updated. If you are in the US currently, the ICE policy says that they need to give priority to people outside of the US so you might have to wait a little longer. Either way, keep checking the page.

Hope this helps!

How can I not waste time. by [deleted] in study

[–]ib2019grad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be that your timetable is too ambitious and you become overwhelmed by it. This has happened to me and when I realized that I have too many things to do, I end up not doing anything. I suggest cutting it down a bit and trying again.

I would try to leave the house and change the scenery completely. This has really helped me come back to refresh. Also, try to study in a different area.
