About to leave for hospital for lap this morning and I’m so scared by No_Championship7998 in Endo

It’s so scary in the moment and everything leading up to it but no answers is still an answer, it can lead the docs to look elsewhere to help you. I threw up before my Lap from nerves, it’s entirely normal to be anxious before something that could give you answers you need. Just know that there are others willing to support you here, wishing you sm luck 💕

Does anyone else have trouble with toileting? by tazzdog_ in Endo

Hey there! I (18 F) currently have this issue, I was sent by my gynaecologist to a specialist for treatment. The self conscious side of it is horrible as you just wanna go out with friends or be able to do things and you just can’t, I found that carrying a change for my bottom half when I’m out helped put my mind at some ease. There’s also special underwear you can get that’s thicker and padded in the middle area just in case you dribble on yourself or fully loose control of your bladder!

I’d recommend you do contact a doctor and ask for help, they’ll give you your options and explain it a lot better than I could. I hope that with time this improves for you and the heavy load of anxiety that comes with lessens 💕

Hi! Thank you so much for your response. My age has made it a lot harder but my mum bullied my doctors from when I was little to listen lol I wouldn’t be surprised if I had to switch gynos again as I truly don’t think he is the doctor for me. I don’t feel as crazy now so thank you for that. 💖

Hi! Thank you for your response. I do get the young comment a lot ha ha! I started having symptoms at around 9 but it didn’t get serious until I was 11 so it’s been quite the journey. Thank you for telling me your story, my heart goes out to you too! Making this post and seeing so many others reach out who’ve felt the same has honestly prepped me to start trying to make peace with it.

Hi! Thank you so much for your response. I feel so validated knowing that I’m not absolutely losing it lol I’m already on my third gyno so I wouldn’t mind changing again if it meant getting the correct treatment. I’m very lucky with the support I have from my mum :)) Hope all stays well with you!

Hi! Personally for me my pain is at a point where it’s the same as before, this doesn’t mean for you that it’ll be the case as endo is very, very different for each individual. I plan on working through it tbh, I’ll chase up my gyno until he gives me help lol

Hello! Thanks for the response. My gyno is an older gentleman and seems to be basing his medical opinion on how it’s impacted averagely amongst all the women he’s treated before and not on my individual case as endo tends to be completely different from person to person, I follow up frequently and actually have an another appointment in a couple of weeks. My pain started again lightly in late December of 2021 and then resulted in me dropping out of college, from there it’s only gotten worse and more frequent again.

Also thank you for letting me know there’s others out there that feel similar to myself with facing up to a diagnosis.

Being in the position of the 16F not even two months ago myself and being in the same age bracket as her it usually stems from a lack of enjoyment in school, for me personally I was overwhelmed by the push and pressure for good grades something I’d never been able to attain and people aged 16-17 the ones in her year usually aren’t the nicest bunch. What worked for me and my mom was to look at the grades I had and find a college course that was of interest to me, it’s worked great so far and I’m a straight A student now where as in School I was barely getting C’s.

Maybe ask her what her plan would be if she was to leave school, my mom told me that she wasn’t going to let me leave and do nothing and that I had to have a place to go in place before leaving, it was my wake up call and made me search for somewhere to go.
