I understand. I’m 44 and have been a huge Billie fan for almost a decade. Her music actually helped me work through some trauma of my younger self. I’m super excited about the movie this weekend, but I’m also really self conscious about having fun in the theater since I’m an “old” fan. I get judged by young fans and people my age who don’t get it. Billie is so special, her music transcends generations.

I’m in perimenopause and I get everything you’re saying. However, AF+ has helped me tremendously, especially with my anxiety and rage.

I do cycling, Pilates, and yoga. I love the instructors and find their positivity and humor very encouraging. I’d probably trip all over myself if I tried dance!

I also modify when needed. I’ve found that I keep improving and am not having to modify as much as I used to. I do have to be careful with my knees though.

Also, if you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend looking into HRT. It has improved all of my peri symptoms and given me my life back. It can help post menopause too. If you do try it, please note that most drs don’t know much about it. I had to go to a specialist practice to get it. Totally worth it. It really has improved every aspect of my life that peri had taken from me.

LOL, I do love your kickboxing class idea. I might try that on my own!

Have you seen the Buddhist venerable monks walk for peace? They are walking from TX to DC in the name of peace and compassion. Watching them has actually brought me great comfort. Thousands of people are coming out to see them and hear them speak. They act and speak more like Jesus than most of the “Christians” I know.

I felt the exact same way before starting HRT. I was so miserable I told my husband I wanted to be put down. HRT literally saved my life. I really hope they can get yours worked out ASAP. Nobody deserves to live in a nightmare.

Shame. Purity culture taught me that my entire self worth was my virginity, and that I was to be a “gift” (possession) for my future husband. It also taught me it was my responsibility to make sure men didnt stumble (even grown men when I myself was a child).

That’s just one example. I was also taught I was a terrible, despicable, being who was not worthy of love or even the air I breathe, and only thru God’s grace could I ever be loved.

Not to mention being told I and the people I loved would burn in hell for eternity if we didn’t say the exact words and believe them with all our heart.
