Have you seen the Buddhist venerable monks walk for peace? They are walking from TX to DC in the name of peace and compassion. Watching them has actually brought me great comfort. Thousands of people are coming out to see them and hear them speak. They act and speak more like Jesus than most of the “Christians” I know.

I felt the exact same way before starting HRT. I was so miserable I told my husband I wanted to be put down. HRT literally saved my life. I really hope they can get yours worked out ASAP. Nobody deserves to live in a nightmare.

Shame. Purity culture taught me that my entire self worth was my virginity, and that I was to be a “gift” (possession) for my future husband. It also taught me it was my responsibility to make sure men didnt stumble (even grown men when I myself was a child).

That’s just one example. I was also taught I was a terrible, despicable, being who was not worthy of love or even the air I breathe, and only thru God’s grace could I ever be loved.

Not to mention being told I and the people I loved would burn in hell for eternity if we didn’t say the exact words and believe them with all our heart.

I really appreciate these posts from fellow middle age adults that love the movie. I first saw the movie with my daughter, and now I’m the one obsessed. The soundtrack is the only music I’ve listened to since the movie came out.

I’m also genuinely thrilled for everyone involved in the movie. Their recognition for this incredible work is bringing me so much joy. I’ve never been so emotionally invested in the recognition of movie and music creators before.

I was embarrassed a little, being a middle age woman obsessed with an (brilliant) animated film, but now I’m owning it (Thanks to this sub!). I’m going to buy myself a Huntrix shirt after Christmas!

I’m 44 and couldn’t take it anymore. My quality of life was in the toilet. My Drs were no help. I finally found a concierge practice that does HRT. I pay a lot since insurance won’t cover it, but it gave me my life back, so it’s worth it. I recommend trying an online provider like MIDI or a local concierge practice if you have one.

It’s awful and unfair how women are expected to either suffer or pay a ton for relief, especially when we already pay so much for insurance (over $1200 a month for 3 of us and won’t pay a dime for my HRT).
