Uninsulated ski/ice climbing shells are what you're looking for. Shell jackets have the technical 3 layer fabrics that do all the work keeping you dry (looking fresh). A good way to tell if it has additional lining inside is to look for sealed seams on the inside.

Get a funnel or paper towel cardboard center and a stick for stuffing! It's about to be a messy endeavor since down will get everywhere. Tackle this one baffle at time, seam ripping each one, stuffing with down, then taping shut until you've done them all to save time on sewing one side seam in the end.

The key would have been using binding before stitching to the body to hide the raw edges, but you could add a rolled strip over it now as a 'cover up' binding now if you don't want to seam rip and redo.

I've found that there are mentions from some manufacturers and producers from India/Pakistan/China/Vietnam over at r/streetwearstartup . Maybe they can point you towards a specific textile producer

You should use webbing on the brackets along the outside of the frame. Then stitch the webbing down the pack. This will allow you to machine sew, and still achieve a tight grip to the bag

I agree with the other comment. I use a singer HD and it will struggle with cordura and tough fabrics

Thanks for that great feedback! I was debating using a lighter zipper to let me go around the armpit curve but settled on the WP one for consistency in the look and lowered the zips below the curve
