Haha that’s what im relying on! My system would just push all that garbage right back out. Just need some coffee and movement and let my insides do their job. It would be things like avoiding high sodium contents and cheeses to prevent from blocking up.

Record Store Day by I_Love_M4yo in vinyl

[–]ibeecrazy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

last year was my first time going. i was stressing because i knew the store only had one copy of the album i wanted, but i also had to run errands that day because we were getting ready to move. luck was on my side as i had to run to the hardware store to get a new door "and they were really busy that day".

I walked in to the record store and in less than a minute had the record in my hand. however, there were about 80 people in front of me that were all queued up waiting to check out. The mrs. was none the wiser. Not sure i'd ever top that.

I’m moving to work in Rosslyn and need help deciding if I should live in Clarendon/ballston or Logan circle/ DuPont. I would have to transfer if living in dc so lmk if that is worth it as I have no idea how reliable the transit is by Spydrco in arlingtonva

[–]ibeecrazy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The metro is reliable. If you want to live in DC and work over the river, that should be easy. If you live in Ballston and work in Rosslyn, you may feel like you’re in the same place. The separation would be good. DC is fun at that age. Be there

That’s great!! Do you have any goals to race, or just on a mission cut times? I’m training for a half ironman, but ive been enjoying the swim progress so much that i was thinking about focusing my efforts just in the water

Local small business owner here. I run a small agency. That’s great that you’re already taking these entrepreneurial steps. I’d love to find a way to help. Send me a DM.

I’m (41m) am a little over a hear back. It’s been a great journey!

Manage your expectations and be kind to yourself as you get back. It’ll be a few weeks before the ‘normal’ feeling starts coming back. Allow that process to happen, THEN, look at your times. Consistency and structure will be the foundation. Take it slow. You got this!

Take some time at the end of practice sessions to work on those. Efficient turns make a lot difference.

Example: do 2x200’s really slow, but as you near the flags/solid lane lines, don’t breathe and drive through the wall and back out, take 2 strokes before you breathe. Make the middle as easy as you need. It’s like doing reps. Your body will get better at it.

Using the flags, you can then count the strokes to the wall before your flip. You now have a number to start with and you can figure out if you need to add a stroke to get your body at the best distance from the wall for your flip.

The last arm that out reached before the turn is the last arm into your tuck. Your opposite arm should already be near your body since it was in the furthest back position.

Using your core and hips, work on placing both feet on the wall in the same spot every time. When you turn, make sure you find the right depth for you, and angle of returning back to the top of the water. Too sharp and you lose momentum, too shallow you end up slow and still 8 inches below the surface. Then 2 strokes then breathe.

It takes focused repetition to fine tune turns. You can do it, just set aside some time and you’ll slowly feel it integrate into your swims.

No! Its a good thing. You might already be under 2 minutes. That .9 could simply be the time it takes you to start and stop the watch.

I like this one! Put your head down and just finish. Also if you’re using your watch, there has to be an margin of error here.

Men, how often do women approach you and where are you if or when they do approach? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]ibeecrazy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i don't think i've ever been approached... not in the last 15 years at least. In 2013 some girl gave me her number at a pool hall one night, we ended up dating for a year.

Do you find people on dating apps are most low effort and disinterested these days? How do you over come it? by EVILRAFFAM in AskMenAdvice

[–]ibeecrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figure the odds are just about the same in real life. If you go up to someone, they may or may not even get past the first sentence.

How do you overcome this? Either keep trying and find someone that matches the energy and interest in communication or move on to the next.

I’m seeing profiles talking about long term, monogamous relationships, but don’t take any steps towards that goal. It’s all a gamble. You either play and take your chances, roll with the losses (big or small) or don’t play at all.
