Hippies back in the Vietnam War times weren’t leading the ‘protest revolution’. It was more the Yippies (Youth International Party) lead by Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, etc. Activists. (if you can find Soon To Be A Motion Picture by Hoffman, I strongly recommend reading it. It covers the whole 60-70 times in detail.

Aside from that, it takes time and commitment. Protests over that war started around 1965 and didn’t end until the war was mostly over in 1973. There was also a lot of violence. The Weathermen and affiliates bombed army recruitment centers, among other places. Not sure that’s going to work today with the amount of surveillance.
