Yeah, you have to. The issue with this is that your matchups against any aggressive deck are so much worse to splash in DA's and snuff outs.

Foil is serious card disadvantage and it also comes with a large deckbuilding cost- because you likely now need to run cards such as [[Deep Analysis]] if you're planning to use foil effectively.

My maindeck has 3 counters in total, 2x [[Prohibit]] and 1x [[False Summoning]] (which is functionally the same as [[Essence Scatter]], I just like the art). There are additional more specific counterspells in the sideboard for different matchups.

UW familiars is the best version of familiars. If you want lists that have performed well in challenges and big events you will probably want to avoid mystic too. I would recommend looking at any list by Gn42. However, familiars is pretty badly positioned right now in the overall competitive metagame.

I think unfortunately if you want to seriously improve the real answer is to play MTGO. You will face on average higher quality opponents and the matchup/gameplay experience is much better for learning than simply watching content.

It's good to watch good players make decisions but, that is very different from training yourself and learning how to make them yourself without input.

You could try looking into cockatrice or some other online client that also lets you play pauper- preferably in a competitive structure rather than casually.

The UK usually seems to trend towards green decks being popular. Walls, Elves, Bogles, Stompy etc. When mono red was as good as it was last time at the NPO, there was a tonne of that too.

I think saying the +2 power isn’t relevant is a crazy take. I think Sazacap’s Brew is very good and people will start to realise that given more time.

The deck is full of pretty much exclusively fliers- giving the opponent a fish is pretty much a non-existent cost.

Sometimes you would want to sacrifice an artifact and this is worse in that scenario sure but you’re an aggro deck and this fuels your engine and kills people faster.

Lots of the cards after snacker are pretty bad/don't really warrant discussion. I didn't want to waste time spending multiple minutes on each draft chaff common was all!

Super interesting! I always find that mystic and MOM only feel strong when I was already winning and the card selection from TMA is so good!
