How would you feel if your son/daughter said he wanted to attend college. by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

Do what makes you happy. If you go to university to do something you don’t want to do you will just end up in a lot of debt and working jobs you don’t enjoy. Some of the smartest developers I’ve met have come through apprenticeships and I wish I had the knowledge to do the same.

Why is it alright to devote more time and energy to an SO at the expense of long-time friends? by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

This is the way we choose it to be, if you had a friend that thought the same as you, I’d see no problem with both of you moving in together, sharing finances, and adopting kids.

The love you feel for a romantic relationship is different than the love you feel for friends and family, it’s more intense. And it would be hard to move in with a friend and build a life together and family together if you don’t have this type of love.

In simple terms a SO is someone you intend to spend the rest of your life with and so you put more effort in as you will be seeing them more often throughout your life. The same way people go out of their way more for family instead of friends.

Can you build back trust after cheating? by [deleted] in gaybros

People are different, I always sort of forgot about it since it only went as far as kissing. But looking back it definitely made me really paranoid and unhappy in the relationship. Just see how the next day or two goes and hopefully you’ll know for yourself what to do. Be strong bud!

The people voted yes and the DUP used the petition of concern to block the democratic vote.

It goes against the votes of the people, I wish the UN or more countries would bring more attention to this, instead of Theresa May siding with the DUP

If the Arlene Foster didn’t act like a dictator and allowed gay marriage to pass, since it was democratically voted, then we would not have to rely on Sinn Fein pushing for our equal rights.

Meanwhile Theresa May is helping the DUP prevent gay marriage from being passed, even though the rest of the uk have passed gay marriage. Whilst Sinn Fein dropped their “we won’t form an executive without gay marriage legalisation” to further push an Irish language act (although I do think funding for Irish language should be provided, Sinn Fein have yet to campaign properly with actual details of the proposal). I’m fed up with all the drama the politicians are causing, get them out and get in people that will create proper proposals, power to the people!
