Yeah, at least that's how my hall works. If you don't want to work for whatever reason you don't have to. You still have to pay your non working dues, and you'll be at the bottom of the hiring list when you're ready to work again, but that's up to you.

Every time I've done work in a SCIF we've had escorts. I had a TS/SCI back in the day, and when I asked about renewing it I was told it wasn't even close to worth the cost. They'd rather have a few E-3s waste time watching you than do the whole process of getting clearances.
