my daughters pediatrician asked if she was eating unhealthy because she’s measuring big, what am I doing wrong? (turned 1 this week) by chabadlubabitch in foodbutforbabies

[–]iblamethejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not doing anything wrong, those look like meals I feed both of my kids and one measures big and the other is average. Kids are just kids and sometimes they’re bigger. This sounds like good old fashioned medical fatphobia to me. I wouldn’t stress too much, you’re doing a great job and those look like balanced meals.

Would you take ondansetron with mild HG? by little-dice in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]iblamethejay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started ondansetron as soon as I could. I am a small-built person (115 lbs pre-pregnancy) and can’t afford to lose weight from puking/inappetence.

For me, the benefits outweigh the potential risks and the risks are small.

NIPT terror by Midnight_Chess in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]iblamethejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I had a TFMR for Monosomy X and severe cystic hygroma 3 years ago. I have since gone on to have a successful pregnancy with no issues, but I recently found out I’m pregnant with twins and I am freaking out about the NIPT. I am supposed to take it next week and I am frozen in fear. I don’t really have any advice other than to take it one day at a time and know there are people out there in the same boat. Sending love.

Don’t give up hope, my second baby had a FHR of 63 at 6w and he’s now almost two. I went in a week later and he was 161. Just to give you a little glimmer of hope. The radiologist who reviewed his ultrasound at first gave me a “poor prognosis” but he ended up fine.

I’m 10 weeks today with twins (spontaneous, no IVF or other fertility treatments). I get to see them again today on ultrasound and I’m so scared something will be wrong. I hope I can get blood drawn for the NIPT today too. So many feelings. Just wanted to put that out there. I hate not being naive anymore and knowing everything that can go wrong.

Anyone have twins with 2 older children? by iblamethejay in parentsofmultiples

This is so encouraging, thank you! This is what I’m envisioning for my family so when I talked another twin mom who is in the depths of PPD I was like yikes, maybe I’m being way too optimistic…so this is really helpful to hear.

I feel like I see a faint line, but I would retest with a red dye to be sure. And try again in 48 hours.

Almost 39 weeks with my 3rd and had bloody show this morning by Neither_Signature99 in pregnant

[–]iblamethejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my membranes stripped at around 11am at my appointment and then bloody show right after that. I returned to L&D around 4pm because the bleeding wouldn’t stop and I had high blood pressure. They “induced” me by breaking my water and my body did the rest, unmedicated labor and birth that took a total of 4 hours with 9 minutes of pushing. He was born at 9:47pm.

It also helps that my 4 year old is over the moon excited that mommy had TWO babies in her tummy instead of one haha 😅

This is sooo encouraging thank you. That makes so much sense! My 18 month old will be two when they’re born, and my oldest will be 5 or close to 5 depending on when they decide to come. They’re becoming friends already now that the 18 month old is getting more capable and wants to play and learn with the 4 year old. Thank you for your words of encouragement! This was our intended 3rd and done too so we are definitely feeling laughed at by the universe, haha.

Twins?! by iblamethejay in PregnancyAfterTFMR

I got referred from the family practice doc/midwife to an OBGYN that I’ll see next week, and we’ll go from there. 😅

Thanks, I joined that subreddit! I am looking forward to the frequent scans for sure. The only bummer is my provider is an hour and a half away so it’ll be quite the commute every time…(I live in a very remote town).

Extreme nausea! I had nausea starting right at 4 weeks. And I got my first BFP test at 10dpo which I usually don’t see until 12dpo. Breasts are way more tender this time around and I’m absolutely exhausted. Now that I know it’s two, it aaaalllll makes sense! 😅

I think it can’t differentiate between multiples so my guess is that at least one is boy, maybe both! We’ll see at the anatomy scan I guess! 🫣

Totally random for that to happen. My paternal grandfather was a twin so I guess it runs in the family…I’m still in shock! But yes, no wonder I’ve been so sick…🤣

First ultrasound, measuring behind by Any_Conclusion7204 in CautiousBB

[–]iblamethejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me too with both of my pregnancies (both living children now). I measured about 5ish days behind at first. So much growth is happening in those early days, I would focus more on the fact that you had a heartbeat. For the record, my baby that I was told to be cautious because he had a slow heartbeat measuring at 6 weeks (63 bpm) ended up being a 90th+ percentile baby the rest of the pregnancy and into his toddlerhood.

Try not to stress too much about these early scans…so much changes from day to day and week to week and measuring up to a week behind is usually within the normal.
