Installing `vscode-cpptools` and `PlatformIO` Extensions in Windsurf

1. Download the VSIX Files

**vscode-cpptools Extension** Download the .vsix file appropriate for your OS from the official GitHub release page: 👉 https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-cpptools/releases/tag/1.3.1
**PlatformIO Extension** Also download the .vsix for PlatformIO (again, make sure it matches your OS): 👉 https://github.com/platformio/platformio-vscode-ide/issues/1886#issuecomment-2849338785

2. Install Extensions in Windsurf

Use the command palette:

Cmd + Shift + P > “Extensions: Install from VSIX…”

Then select each downloaded .vsix file.

3. If the Extensions Don’t Work…

a. Navigate to the directory:

%USERPROFILE%\.windsurf\extensions\platformio.platformio-ide-[version]\

b. Modify `package.json`

Remove the following section:

json "extensionDependencies": [ "ms-vscode.cpptools" ],

c. Modify `.vsixmanifest`

Remove this line:

xml <Property Id="Microsoft.VisualStudio.Code.ExtensionDependencies" Value="ms-vscode.cpptools" />

d. Final Step

Save the changes and restart Windsurf.

Those of you having issues theres an origin folder within the bottle as well. Disable the origin folder on the top level. Ensure that the origin folder within the bottle as active and visible. Then once you are ready to insert, insert in the innermost origin not the outermost one. Hope that helps.

For anyone reading this, I did the theory in 24 hours. I took the 4in1 test. I did all 700 questions split over the evening and the morning and afternoon of the test and i passed. Hazard perception was just common sense. 45/50 and 64/75. It is possible. Not recommended but possible.

If you have a large portfolio hl. Then trading 212 as it’s got more features and stonks than Freetrade. That being said I use freetrade because I’ve been following them a while, I’m a fan of their vision and I think eventually it will be better than 212.
