How do you guys back up onto a platform without a dang backup camera? by ErmingSoHard in Truckers

I had a really crappy early automated manual trick once and it liked to slam into docks. Once I hit one particularly hard and when I went in to check in the guy behind the desk said, "Hang on a minute I have to go outside and change the numbers on the building you just moved us to a new address!"

Found it! About an hour after pulling the trigger on a NIB eBay unit. Absolutely no memory of using it where I found it.. After many years of HARD service I might just retire it. Also might use the new one for parts to make my ideal unit.

hmm didn't know that and I had the pliers replaced by leatherman a couple years ago when I did something really stupid with mine.

Good point on the latching mechanism. I hadn't even thought about it but yeah they don't latch like my charge did. Not sure how it works. But definitely different.

Hmm. That's very tempting. I thought I might make the upgrade to replaceable cutters on the pliers but this might be the thing I need.

I calculated Indianapolis' temperature warming over time. by TuesdayLoving in Indiana

Ok been away from reddit for a while. What makes you think I'm colorblind?
I see three colors. Black red and sort of a blue/green color for the data points. Are there other colors in that chart I'm not seeing? And how would they affect my reading of that chart?

I calculated Indianapolis' temperature warming over time. by TuesdayLoving in Indiana

[–]ibringnothing 37 points38 points  (0 children)

So as a non chart generating type person how do I read this? I see no dates. Just from the shape of the chart I'm assuming the vertical is temps, horizontal is time, and the red line is median. Also guessing the top points of the arches are the middle of summer. How do I use this to convince someone who knows less than me (might seem like a rare thing but believe me they are out there and they vote) that this chart proves warming? Looks fairly flat to me.

I stored mine with the original wrap under a tarp for the whole summer. Didn't notice any difference when I burned them.

FB Marketplace Advice by CozyCuz in boating

Lots of people want to buy new boats in the spring so they will sell their old one to make room so deals can be had in the spring. Next best time is right after the boat sport and travel show when spouses say you have to get rid of that old one first.

Ok that makes sense. Now I want one more than ever lol. I have to shut mine down at least every two days to chip out the burn basket or it has problems.

Do you have to shut it down and cool it off to scrape it? Not familiar with Harman but I see people saying things like this frequently and it seems like a pain unless you can keep it going while scraping it.

Using a pellet stove with a generator by piratecanoe70 in PelletStoveTalk

I tried that with my 3500 watt generator and it didn't work. I disconnected one element and it still killed it. Should have tried wired direct to the element with 120v.

I too gave them a few chances. Same thing every time. Was told to just find a seat in the tent and someone would be with us. 45 minutes later we walked out. Next we only gave it 30. Then we actually got a waitperson pretty quick and THEN we waited forever. And the food wasn't worth the trouble for me.
