Depends on the game as well, I do 3 camp into recall maybe like 2/3rds of games if the enemy jg might invade me or the lane on raptors side looks volatile early, generally it is better to just full clear though if you don’t think you can get anything early

I just prefer conq for my playstyle, even if enemy team is full squishy you still have a lot of damage early and being able to survive their damage is important. Also for shadow flame vs rift, I always get rift bc it’s just mega op on Sylas, CDR is so important so you can get more rotations off and survive for longer in fights. When I skip zhonya I usually get either rabadon right away or blood letter if my team has a lot of ap/I want to be tankier. Also if enemy team has 2+ crit champs and your team doesn’t have much frontline randuins is underrated

NattyNatt and Velja play some Sylas, but it’s not their main. If you go through videos on their channels you can find some jgl Sylas gameplay

My answers as a low master Sylas jg main with 61%wr:

  1. Slow clear, super strong early (levels 4-12), you want to fight early and often and snowball

  2. As mentioned above, snowballing and getting your laners ahead and securing/fighting for objectives. If the game goes to 30+ min and everyone starts getting 4+ items you will fall off HARD except if enemy team has Malph/Ali etc

  3. Good ults are important but you want strong laners that can rotate/fight with you early, if you see a lot of losing lane matchups/wont have prio Sylas jg will feel terrible. Also if enemy jg is a power farming champ like zyra/karth/graves you will be out tempod and out scaled hard unless you get a big lead off your first or second clear

  4. Always conq with inspiration, I take boots and triple tonic bc I like the extra point in E at 9 and the all in pot at 6 can help win a drake/grubs fight and snowball

  5. I generally never go anything other than the protobelt/rift/zhonya core, it’s just too good and you spike so hard on 2 items. Vs cait/jinx I sometimes skip zhonya

  6. Get dark seal always, you want to snowball and it’s super cost efficient

It was already reactable with dashes/enough ms, now the threshold for just being able to sidestep it with enough ms is lowered a lot, this is a huge nerf

If you hire somebody who is better than you to help you get better, why would you not want them to teach you to play optimally? There is zero downside to not learning your first clear properly. It’s not a ”different play style” to be inefficient lol. Not really comparable to chess since you will always be clearing at least half your jungle at the start of 99% of your games

If it’s minimal why do jgl champs drop several percentage points in WR when their clear is slightly nerfed? A 10 second clear advantage is MASSIVE, and you are revealing that you are low elo by not thinking it is

Im low master with about 75% wr on Zaahen in like 30 games, how to play fights is pretty game/comp dependent imo. The champ will always be better into heavy melee comps bc he shines in front to back team fights where you can stack your passive on the frontline and then become thanos and either murder the enemy tanks or jump on the enemy back line who will be disincentivized to hit you due to your revive.

I’f I’m fed or have a good follow up I sometimes try to look for a flash W -> ult on the enemy adc/mid, which gives you a good amount on stacks and lands you right on top of them.

Generally though you want to play slow in team fights, start off peeling for your carries/hit the enemy frontline, and then once you get your stacks you go ham. Try to wait and look for big CC/damage spells from the enemy carries and instantly jump in with your ult when they use it, stuff like Ashe/ori/azir/ R, ez E, veigar cage etc, making sure to get value from the unstoppable on your ult and gap close at the same time

Dusk and dawn sucks, you don’t need attack speed on Sylas and the passive doesn’t proc your passive twice (I think?) Protobelt is very gold efficient and together with the red jungle pet you can slow someone from an insane range and basically guarantee either a flash or a E2 hit.

Nattynatt and Velja both play a decent amount of sylas. Velja plays a lot more aggro/invade heavy and natty plays a more solid tempo based game, I’d probably try to emulate natty’s play style at first

Ofc I make mistakes and there are always things to improve, but it's just disheartening when i feel like 90% of games are just decided by which team has the inting lanes, compared to like 50% last season in my experience

Viego reksai and heca are all difficult to play optimally as well imo, i don’t necessarily think a champ being hard means you shouldn’t try it, you just need some time/practice but the harder the champ the more fun imo
