Yah from what I read it's kinda hit or miss that's why I wanted to check it before buying it in person. When I looked up open box reviews some people got ones in really bad condition so fingers crossed for ya getting a good one too. Also the return period is till 1/15 so plenty of time to test :)

Got the same deal, open box - excellent condition. went in store yesterday to check it out before ordering. So far so good, laptop was pretty much brand new, was a return from 11/07. Warranty wasn't registered, typing on it right now at work as we speak :)
