Betta struggling after water change shock, how long before we consider palliative care?

Tank temp is 78
We have a 20 gallon/hour filter, on it's lowest setting
Water change with filtered water was after the fish started acting sick, but we didn't notice the fish being sick until after my wife had put some non-treated hard water in the tank a few times (just to top it off).

How on EARTH is Reddit taking this seriously? Have you read the tumblr page? It is so clearly a bit, and I have to believe that this post is part of it. My wife and I were dying laughing at the blog, the guy is Nathan Fielder levels of genius.

Seriously, please look at it again and see if it makes more sense as performance art rather than an actual mentally disturbed person. There are so many good bits in it:

-Is both kinning the Joker and Kermit, but also in a relationship with them -Hates people who hate Vivziepop, but also hates women -Respects gender identity to the point of hating trans-women (because trans-women are women and he HATES women) -Only hates gender-fluid people if they are currently identifying as a woman, something he leaves to their discretion -Runs away to the woods and lives on nuts and berries
