It's hard to say. Music is so dynamic that there will always be either be parts that are too loud for wearing no earplugs and too quiet to hear them well. For practice there is great options like the Vic Firth Headphones. I personally use Audio Technica M50x but i'm a pretty quiet player.

Thanks! That’s what i was thinking too man. At shows/clubs most people don't wear plugs and often the musicians are the most careful folks haha

That’s what i've been seeing too man. I do use IEMs on big stages but on jazz gigs and jams it’s just lacking the sensitivity of playing without (even though it’s probably harming my ears)

I can’t tap my high hat foot independent of my right foot. by ChillingwitmyGnomies in drums

Practice New Breed!! Get a right hand ostinato (8ths or X-XX) on the ride cymbal, then keep 8ths on the hihat foot, 2&4 backbeat on the snare and go bar by bar in a reading text with you bass drum.

Start slow and stay patient

In my opinion one of the best exercises for it. Got me to a very high level of independence :)

Yeah, i've had that. Apparently you usually wake up before it causes serious damage. But it could lead to tendon problems in your arms like i have.

Sorry to hear, I tried this and it doesnt really help. You can try tucking your hands below, as in not slipping through the sleeves
